EfM possibility
This Fall
EfM possibility. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to carry out lay ministry through a program of study meeting one day a week.   Through study, prayer, and reflection, EfM groups move toward a new understanding of the fullness of God's kingdom. We are exploring the possibility of having an EfM class begin this fall at Christ Church with the Rev. Deacon Nancy Sartin Richardson leading it. If you are interested in participating, please email Father Dave  by August 1st.
Pledges during the summer
Online Giving now available
This year we have a new way to keep your pledges up to date.  Christ Church now has a PayPal account.  With a few clicks of buttons, one time donations can be set-up as well as reoccurring donations. A donate button is now set up on our website, as well as at the bottom of each Friday Bulletin.  This can be especially helpful during summer travel. Thank you for your continued support of Christ Church.  Enjoy your summer. Safe travels!

Lunch Bunch will meet in the Parish Hall beginning at 11:00 a.m. on July 20, 2019.

The Christ Church Valdosta Lunch Bunch feeds 120 or more hungry children every first and third Saturday of the month. Workers from the church as well as other members of the community who volunteer gather at 11 a.m. at Christ Church to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They pack them in plastic bags, then brown paper bags with logo stickers together with chips, fruit, juice and other healthy goodies purchased from the Second Harvest Food Bank. Volunteers are welcome.
90 Scholarships for the DR!
$31,500 -- Thank you for your generous support!
As you know, one of the major projects of our Dominican Republic mission work is to raise funds for scholarships for the children enrolled in the Episcopal K-8 school in El Pedregal, our mission field. For the 2019-2020 academic year, we will be sending a total of $31,500, which will pay for 90 scholarships. These scholarship donations came from three Episcopal congregations: Christ Church (Valdosta GA), Nativity (Dothan AL), and Trinity (Statesboro GA) plus individual supporters of our mission in several other locations. In 2018 we donated $31,150 for 89 scholarships, which was a record at that time. This year, one more.

We have already sent this good news to Padre Ramón Canela, the Episcopal priest in El Pedregal, and he responded with this message for all of us:

Para nosotros es de mucha alegría saber que podremos contar con esa gran ayuda para que más niños puedan tener la oportunidad de un mejor futuro. Dando gracias a Dios por el trabajo que ustedes realizan para el beneficio de nuestra institución, Dios les siga bendiciendo grandemente con salud y prosperidad a usted, Julia y todos los que colaboran con esta obra de amor.

For us it is very happy to know that we can count on this great help so that more children can have the opportunity of a better future. Giving thanks to God for the work you do for the benefit of our institution, may God continue to bless you with great health and prosperity, Julia and all those who collaborate with this work of love.
