As you know, we are in the midst of stewardship season here at Christ Church.  Thanks to those of you who have already submitted your pledge!  Pledge cards have been mailed out and are also available in the tower, parish hall and office here at Christ Church.  Your pledges play a vital role in the life and ministry of Christ Church.  If you are pledging we would be most appreciative if you could turn in your pledge cards by November 1 for budget planning purposes-thanks so much!

Mid and High School Student
Sundays and Wednesdays
Middle School and High School Students -   We are making a transition in how we do things at EYC. I would like to invite all parents to come by after next Wednesday's teaching series (10/26) for a few minutes to go over what these changes are and what the vision of EYC will be going forward. One of these changes will be more structure for gospel education. We will be using this curriculum (that requires no homework) going forward. The cost of the participants guide is $10. If you could bring that with you next Wednesday, I will be able to order the books.
Episcopal College Fellowship
Episcopal College Fellowship is having a tailgate party at Louttit Hall next Saturday, the 22nd. We are in need of a few volunteers who can make some sides and desserts. The Ryan's and Black's will be taking care of cooking the meat. The tailgate will start at 10:30 AM and go until the game starts. Please contact Philip Ryan if you would like to help serve our college students.

Next Thursday we will meet at Louttit Hall at 6:30 and walk over to the Student Union Center to support and participate in "VSYou? The V-State Student Experience?" This is sponsored by the Department of Student Diversity and Inclusion & the Black Student League. If there is time afterwards, we will come back to Louttit to discuss and process the evening. Next Saturday, 10/29, is we will host a 90's Halloween movie marathon. That's right Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town, and more. Come dressed in costume! We will meet at the church before heading over the Bobby and Nikki Yarbrough's barn for the movies and fun (thank you Yarbrough's!).

2017 DR Trip - $200 Deposit
June 12 - 19, 2017
December 1 is the deadline to join the 2017 DR mission team. Since this deadline is a little earlier than in past years, we are not asking for you to buy your airline ticket by that date. Instead, a nonrefundable deposit of $200 will secure your place on the 2017 team. This $200 deposit will be part of your team fee, which we estimate to be between $650 and $700. We will be able to calculate that team fee more exactly once we know how many people are going, what our projects will be, and the in-country room, board, transportation and hotel expenses.

A webpage with planning information about our 2017 Dominican Republic mission team is now available at the link below. We are thinking about making a major change in our flights. Rather than flying from Orlando on JetBlue, there is a possibility that we might fly from Valdosta to Atlanta and then on to Santo Domingo. Details are in the flight section on the planning page. No decision has been made yet, and do not purchase flight tickets now. More detailed information will be available by November 1.

If you are interested in applying to join the team, contact Julia or Julius Ariail at  [email protected].

DR Supper and Auction Event
February 23, 2017 - Save the Date!

We will hold our annual dinner and auction for the Dominican Republic mission trip on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Cotton Corner in downtown Valdosta. This is our major fundraiser for the scholarships we donate to the Episcopal school in El Pedregal (70 in 2015 and 2016!) and for the expenses of our work projects in that village. For more information, contact Julia Ariail at [email protected].
