Pledges for 2018
Wednesday, November 1, 2017
As you know, we are in the middle of pledge season here at Christ Church.  So far we are doing very well.  Thanks so much to all of you who have already submitted your pledge!  If you have not yet submitted a 2018 pledge, we hope you will and humbly ask that it be submitted by November 1st if possible.  Each and every pledge is very helpful as we continue Christ Church's ministry and mission of receiving God's grace and sharing it with one another and the world.  Pledge cards are available at the church, or if it's easier for you, you can also simply email your pledge amount to our bookkeeper, Amy Creasy.  Thanks so much!

Christ Church's Stitchers of Love ministry members are creating warm woolies for the Seamen's Church Institute's Christmas at Sea project.  You can read more about this ministry here:  Christmas at Sea | The Seamen's Church Institute

Each year, at Christmas, the people of this ministry package gifts for the mariners that includes a warm hand made item of clothing as well as a few small gifts for their use during their long months at sea.

We plan to mail a large box of hats and scarves to New Jersey next month.  We would like to include some gifts in our box.  Here is a list of items they need:
  • Unscented, Colorless Lip Balm
  • Unscented, Hypoallergenic Hand Lotion (2-4oz bottles)
  • Sealed Packages of Holiday Sweets
  • Books or Activities like Sudoku, word searches, or playing cards
  • Facial Tissue
  • Microwave Popcorn
  • Chewing Gum
  • Handmade Christmas Cards
Please feel free to put your donations in our box in the Parish Hall.  The box is currently sitting on top of our Stitchers' bookcase.  You can place your items anywhere on the bookcase area.

Thank you so much for your support.  Questions?  Pepi Nelson.
Visiting in El Pedregal
October 28-31, 2017
Our DR mission team leaders, Julia and Julius Ariail, will be in the Dominican Republic from October 28 to November 7. Their primary mission is to represent Bishop Benhase at the retirement celebration for the current diocesan bishop on November 1 and the installation of the next diocesan bishop on November 4. Both events will take place at the Episcopal cathedral in Santo Domingo. However, they will also be visiting the Campamento in El Pedregal from October 28-31 to explore options for projects for our 2018 mission team. Julia is looking forward to helping Leidy cook one or two meals in the house that our team built for her family this past June. For more information about the developing plans for our 2018 mission trip, click here
