Before we begin, I’d like to take a moment to recap what has been a very busy — and very successful — stretch for the Middlesex Chamber team over the past week and a half. On Saturday, June 7, the City of Middletown hosted the 7th Annual Middletown PrideFEST in downtown, welcoming over 30,000 attendees to this incredible celebration. The following Tuesday, June 10, we held our Annual Golf Tournament, which brought together more than 140 golfers for a great day on the course — rain included. The very next day, we hosted the 28th Annual Cruise Night on Main Street, where nearly 1,000 pre-2000 vehicles were proudly displayed and enjoyed by over 8,000 attendees. I want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible team and hundreds of volunteers for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the success of these events and to the Chamber as a whole.

Onto this week, we have officially reached Travelers Championship week in Middlesex County!

This morning, we held our Annual Travelers Championship Breakfast at the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill. Attendees enjoyed hearing from the EVP of Corporate Sponsorships, Dan Glod, as well as a great final update from Tournament Director, Nathan Grube. Each year, the Championship welcomes thousands of attendees, guests, and professionals to central Connecticut, which is a huge economic driver for our region. A huge thank you to Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Travelers Companies, Nathan Grube, Tournament Director, Rob Croce, Director of Business Development for Travelers Championship, and Travelers Companies for their continued support of the Middlesex Chamber. For more info on the Travelers Championship, please click here. See you at the TPC this week!

Tomorrow, June 18, our HR Council will host a workshop titled, “"Onboarding Employees" – A Panel Discussion with Various Size Businesses”. Join us tomorrow morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. via Teams for a dynamic panel discussion featuring businesses of all sizes as they share their approaches to onboarding new employees, successful strategies they've implemented, and key insights into workforce integration and retention. Click here to register.

Rounding out what has been a busy month, realtors and real estate industry professionals are invited to join us for an afternoon of networking and great eats at our annual Real Estate Council Luncheon, on Friday, June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This year, we are excited to hold this event at Terrazza Restaurant in Portland. During this event, we will present our 2025 Mary Ellen Klinck Real Estate Industry Leader of the Year Award to Sarah Shapiro of Shapiro Law Offices, LLC!
