Week of June 7, 2026

This talk calls listeners to embrace love as a principled spiritual discipline and active force for transformation in a time of unprecedented division and darkness. Drawing on my spiritual teachings, including the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., tand he wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh, the talk offers seven practical disciplines for staying grounded in love — from meditation and mindfulness to forgiveness and speaking truth with compassion. It closes with a invitation to make the choice of our time: to walk as a love warrior and choose light over darkness.

Burying Caesar - June 12

"Burying Caesar is an Alt/Pop duo based in both Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Columbus, Ohio, comprised of Roddy Cochran and Hovey Jude Corbin. While the band was formed in Albuquerque in 2014, the pair has had to take their music virtual since Roddy moved across the country to pursue his PhD in Quantum Physics. Burying Caesar now meets weekly on Zoom calls to write, record, and edit their original music, mixed and produced in Hovey's home studio. In light of Roddy's absence, Hovey recruited Alexandria Van Why (his amazingly talented girlfriend) to continue performing as Burying Caesar without leaving their signature vocal harmonies behind. Self-proclaimed troubadours and avid fans of storytelling, Burying Caesar hopes to guide you through fable and fantasy, on adventures large and small, all in a matter of minutes and from the comfort of your seats."

 CALLING ALL ANGELS!!

We are in the midst of building a strong Volunteer base at RGCSL and as we build the foundation of our new center, the saying, 'Many hands make light work' is truer than ever before! I recently came across this statistic. 'In considering volunteerism in churches and spiritual centers, historically, 20% of the people do 80% of the work'.

Looking around, that seems to be true at our center as well.

HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS, with enough people available, we can easily change that statistic by creating a pool of volunteers to call on. By simply joining one of the teams or offering to share your time, talent and treasure, when needed, we can together build our Beloved Community and help carry the load. There are many opportunities for service including kitchen help, (set up, clean up and bringing food for our Sunday meal), EVENTS production, cleaning and house keeping, Sunday morning greeters, Solid Grounds, etc.

Please see Dr Michele and Gracie Woods and join our team.

Thank you for your consideration.

You are loved and appreciated, and you do make a difference.

A Simple Habit, A Powerful Impact

What if one simple habit—bringing your coins each Sunday (even those out-of-production pennies)—could change lives? Through June, we’re collecting “Change for Change!” to share spiritual resources with incarcerated individuals. Keep a small container by your door or in your car as a reminder. Together, over the next 4 Sundays, we can reach our $500 goal. Let’s build momentum—week by week!

Collection runs through the month of June

Our goal: 10 subscriptions = $500 — let’s see if we can make it happen!

Together, we’re proving that even the smallest change can make a powerful difference.

Gracie Woods is the June RGCSL

Volunteer of the Month

Of course Gracie is the volunteer of the month -- isn't she the one you always find at the back of the sanctuary with sign up sheets every Sunday!?!?Somehow we neglected to publicly acknowledge her part in the magic of our transition, but she was an essential part of organizing the moving sale. We honestly couldn't have done it without her.

Always jumping into the middle of whatever big plans RGCSL seems to have brewing, Gracie is a huge, huge blessing to our community. Thank you, Grace! Find yourself something nice from the bookstore and take 10% off!
