New Rector - Father Hal Weidman
Father Hal Weidman began at Christ Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. We are excited to welcome Father Weidman as our new rector and his wife Michelle to Christ Church. Please join us in welcoming them to Christ Church.

Wednesday Night Holy Eucharist, Dinner / Teaching Series Wednesday Evening Holy Eucharist will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Lenten Dinner and program starting at 6:30 p.m. on March 22 – March 29th. Choir will meet on Thursdays at 6:00 during lent.

Media Services
Sunday, March 19, 2023
Live-Streaming this week of the 10 a.m. worship service on March 19, 2023 will begin at 9:55 a.m. If for any reason we experience Technical difficulties with the Live-streaming, a recording of the service will be uploaded and a link sent to the congregation at a later time.
New feature for in-person worship - We now have a hearing assistance feature available as part of our new sound system. This feature uses your smartphone and earbuds or hearings aids to bring the sound directly into your ears. An information sheet is linked here, and copies are also available from the ushers or the media booth staff.

Garden Guild will meet on March 20th. We will focus on the church grounds. The Garden Guild meets Monday and Wednesday from 10 - 12. More hardworking people are welcome to join us. Bring your gloves and tools.

Children’s Church will be held on March 19th in the Gabard Building. Children aged 3 – 5th grade are welcome to meet Keri Wilkin in the Children’s Classroom in Gabard. (This is the first classroom on the left in the preschool hallway.)

Easter Egg Hunt - Eggs Needed
We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 9, 2023, immediately following the 10:00 worship service.
We are in need of pre-filled Easter eggs.
(No chocolate, or nuts please).
Eggs can be dropped off at the church office Monday-Thursday from 9-3, or given to Keri Wilkin. Thank you for any assistance you can lend.

1Book1Diocese for Lent
Beginning to Pray by Anthony Bloom.
Continuing on Sunday, March 19th, following the 10:00 service, Molly Stevenson will lead the book discussion of the 1Book1Diocese book “Beginning to Pray” by Anthony Bloom. We will be discussing section 3 - Going Inward.

Stitchers of Love
The Stitchers of Love are now meeting twice a month on the first and third Sundays in the Parish Hall from 4:00 to 6 p.m. All are welcome. We will teach anyone who is interested in learning to knit or crochet. The next meeting is March 19th.

Vacation Bible School
June 5 - 8
Vacation Bible School will be here before we know it! The Vacation Bible School committee is hard at work to get us ready for the kick-off of "Summer Camp for Jesus" in June. Registration information and more details will follow.
Volunteers are needed. If you would like to help with Vacation Bible School, please contact Keri Wilkin at 229-412-5630. We need to begin the process of background checks, and Safe Church, Safe Community training (a diocese mandate for working with children and youth).
If you are planning to volunteer, you can begin the Safe Church, Safe Community training by following the directions in this link.

Keri is also in need of Sunday nursery volunteers, if you are interested in helping out in the nursery, please contact Keri at 229-412-5630. Background Checks and Safe Church, Safe Community Training will also need to be done for assisting in the nursery.

Tuesday Night Bible Study
The Tuesday night Bible study led by Willa Valencia will resume on March 21st, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the home of Ron and Tammy Borders on Williams Street. All adults are welcome. Please bring your Bible—any translation.

Sunday Evening Vespers - a group of Christ Church members meet on Zoom (2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays) at 6:00 p.m. to read the Compline Service, pages 127-135 in the Book of Common Prayer and for friendly conversation afterwards. The first and third Sundays of the month we will meet in-person, but will make an audio recording available after Vespers for those unable to attend in-person. To join the group and receive the link to the weekly gathering, contact Phyllis Hiers or call 229-563-2464.

Happy Episcopal People at Noon
Happy Episcopal People, aka HEP Nooners will meet on April 21 at noon at the home of John & Marcia McRae. Please bring salads or desserts to share, host will provide tea, crackers and rolls.
The McRae's live at: 2701 Green Meadow Dr. Valdosta. All are welcome to attend. Bring a friend.

If you missed buying azaleas at the Azalea Festival, you can still buy Encore Azaleas from Farmer Brown's Produce Market located at 1500 S. Patterson Street. Your purchase will benefit Vet Team Six. Thank you!
Vet Team Six is a group of civilians, veterans, and active-duty military who go within a 50-mile radius of Valdosta to do small home projects for needy veterans free of charge.
