Dave Clark - Build for a Cure
Habitat for Humanity
The vestry of Christ Church has committed Christ Church to sponsor a Habitat for Humanity House build this fall. The Dave Clark "Build for the Cure" will be in memory of Dave Clark and his son Michael, who died of cystic fibrosis.
Fr. David and the vestry encourage you to support the build with your labor and with your financial gifts. Those gifts should be in addition to your regular giving to God in support of Christ Church's ministries. You can designate your check for Habitat on the memo line, or visit our website page Dave Clark Build for the Cure to donate.
The date for the building of the walls has been set for Saturday, October 15th at 9:00 a.m. Will be held at 2010 Cypress Street (Parking lot of Habitat for Humanity).
The dates for the actual build on site will begin Tuesday, October 18th at 8:00 a.m. and will continue Monday - Saturdays till November 5th.

Hello! My name is Chris Rutland, and I’ve attended Christ Church since the summer of 2021. In that time I’ve enjoyed plugging in to the life of this parish and you’ve all made me very welcome. Although I’ve lived in Texas, Memphis, and suburban NYC, I grew up on a farm just up the road in Lenox and I’m happy to be back near my family. I’ve always enjoyed investing in young folks, most recently at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Rye, New York. I look forward to serving the youth of Christ Church and their families as co-director of youth ministries.

Interim Youth Ministers Called
Fr. David has added two people to the staff as interim co-youth ministers. Joel Williams and Chris Rutland have already begun planning for a meeting with parents and youth and the launch of our fall youth ministry. We were delayed in making this announcement until the background checks were completed.
Attention EYC youth and parents!
Mark your calendars for the Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) 22/23 kickoff meeting (and pizza party) on Sunday, October 16th at 6 pm in the youth room in the Gabard Building. Besides pizza and fellowship, we’ll also have the chance to talk about our ideas for EYC and get input from youth and parents in a casual gathering. Let us know you’re coming by Wednesday October 12th by emailing the church office. See y’all there!

My name is Joel Williams, I have been a member of Christ Episcopal Church for 20 years. I'm a native of Valdosta and a graduate of GSU (Sociology; business) and VSU (MPA). I am employed with South GA Medical Center as a social worker in the case management dept.
Three of the most important things to me are family, faith and fitness. I live a healthy lifestyle and benefit from the time invested in all these aspects. I love to travel. I have been to many fun and exciting places coast to coast and in Canada. I look forward to working with the Youth of Christ Church.

As a part of the upgrade of our audio and video equipment, the rear pew on the College Street side has been moved to a temporary location in the annex. Construction will soon begin on the new media booth where our livestreaming ministry will eventually be located. The loose cables in this area have been placed in a cardboard box for safety reasons -- please do not step on this box or attempt to move it. Thank you for your patience.

HEP Lunch
We had a great, diverse and enthusiastic crowd at the first HEP Lunch time last month over 20+ HEP nooners! Friday seemed to be the best day and noon as a starting time with no ending time :) We will host the next one at our home on October 21 [every other month was suggested on the third Friday of the month.] We will provide soup, drinks and dessert- please bring mini sandwiches or whatever will go with soup. Looking for someone to host December gathering on Dec 16th [third Friday of the month.] Next one would be February 17- volunteers?
