  • Tuesday collections will occur Wednesday, June 2
  • Wednesday collections will occur Thursday, June 3

City Elections

The City of College Park will hold its municipal election for the office of Mayor and all eight district Councilmembers on Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the College Park Community Center. The Mayor and Council decided to hold the City’s General Election on Sunday this year in an effort to increase voter turnout. Voters who typically work Monday through Friday often find it hard to get to the polls on a weekday and may find a Sunday election more convenient.

Stay tuned for regular updates on the fall election on our website at: www.collegeparkmd.gov/Election. For more information about voting in the City, or running for office, please contact the City Clerk, Janeen S. Miller, at 240-487-3501 or jsmiller@collegeparkmd.gov, or the Chief of the Board of Election Supervisors, Jack Robson, at boeschief@collegeparkmd.gov.
The Jack Perry Award

From May 15 to July 15 each year, any resident, neighborhood association or organization in the City may submit a nomination for the Jack Perry Award. Nominations should be submitted in writing to the City Clerk for the City of College Park, 8400 Baltimore Avenue, Suite 375, College Park, MD, 20740, or by e-mail to jsmiller@collegeparkmd.gov. Nominations will be reviewed by a Committee that includes a member of the Perry family. This non-monetary award will be presented by the City Council in the fall. For criteria and eligibility requirements visit our website at: https://www.collegeparkmd.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=242.
WMATA Encourages Green/Yellow Line Riders to Plan Ahead for Track Work in May

Metro is reminding Green and Yellow line customers to plan ahead for scheduled track work May 1 through May 9. That will require free shuttle buses to replace trains at four stations over one weekend and the weeklong closure of West Hyattsville.

The work will occur during the previously scheduled May 1-2 weekend shutdowns of West Hyattsville, Prince George's Plaza, College Park-U of MD, and Greenbelt, and during the week of May 3 through May 9, when West Hyattsville will be closed. The FEMA Community Vaccination Center at Greenbelt will remain open during this time. For more information, visit: https://www.wmata.com/service/rail/PlatformProject/Project-Updates.cfm.
