2021 ARPA Assistance Grants

The City has established two programs to assist businesses, non-profits, and residents address negative financial impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The American Rescue Program Act (ARPA) has provided funds that the City is using for these and many other projects. Each program is summarized below. The goal of these programs is to help our residents, businesses and non-profits get back on their feet and better prepared to be financially successful in the future. For additional information, please visit www.collegeparkmd.gov/arpa.

Curbside Leaf Collection

Curbside leaf collection is scheduled for the following areas next week, December 6-10, 2021:
  • Monday, SA6-Rhode Island Avenue East
  • Tuesday, finish SA6-Rhode Island Avenue East, start SA3-Estates and Yarrow
  • Wednesday, finish SA3 Estates & Yarrow
  • Thursday, SA1-Calvert Hills
  • Friday, finish SA1-Calvert Hills
*Note: If we have already been down your street, we will not return until the next scheduled collection, so put your leaves out by the first day advertised. Click here for the leaf calendar for December.

Curbside Leaf Collection Tips
  • Bagging is not necessary during leaf collection with vacuums. Grass can be included in your leaf piles, but no sticks, branches, vines, or woody materials (these items require a special collection, call to schedule).
  • Rake leaves to the curb but do not put them in the street. Pile leaves away from cars and storm drains as the leaf vacuum cannot reach around cars.
  • Remove tree limbs, rocks, trash, and other debris from leaves to be collected. These items damage the equipment and cause delays.
  • Noise and dust may be noticeable as dry conditions generate more dust. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  • Weekly yard waste collections on regular trash collection days are ongoing, if yours is inadvertently missed, please call for a special collection 240-487-3590.
