ANNOUNCEMENTS
New Bulk Trash Changes Started July 1, 2021

For a single-family, owner-occupied residence:
  • Up to four (4) bulky refuse collections per calendar year, with a maximum total of 20 bulky refuse items, will be free of charge to the resident.

For a single-family rental property that pays for City trash services:
  • Up to four (4) bulky refuse collections per calendar year, with a maximum total of 29 bulky refuse items, will be free of charge.
 
For quantities and/or frequency more than stated above, a $20 collection fee per item over the allowable number of items will be imposed. A waiver may be available for major extenuating circumstances on a limited basis.
 
Please note: Residents will have the opportunity to bring items to Public Works at no cost during the six cleanup Saturdays which are usually held in the Fall and Spring.

All bulky refuse collections must be scheduled in advance and the caller must identify the quantity and type of items when scheduling a collection.

Bulky refuse items must be set out neatly. Department of Public Works staff will provide guidance when you make your appointment. Call 240-487-3590 or email [email protected].

7/10 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with loud exhaust at Baltimore Avenue and Hotel Drive. The driver was issued 1 SERO.

7/10 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with loud exhaust at 9137 Baltimore Avenue. The driver was issued 1 citation and 1 SERO.

7/10 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with loud exhaust at Baltimore Avenue and Berwyn Road. The driver was issued 1 Warning and 1 SEROs.

7/11 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Speed Enforcement) in the 9000 Baltimore Avenue and issued 56 “Mobile” Camera violations.

7/12 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Berwyn Road and 48th Avenue. 10 warning citations were issued.

7/13 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Saint Andrews Place and Duke Street. 2 citations and 4 warnings were issued.

7/13 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with loud exhaust at Baltimore Avenue and Fox Street. The driver was issued 2 citations, 2 warnings and 1 SERO.

7/14 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at 9000 Saint Andrews Place. 2 citations and 2 warnings were issued.

7/15 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Saint Andrews Place and Duke Street. 2 citations and 2 warnings were issued

7/15 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with loud exhaust in the 9000 block of Baltimore Avenue. The driver did not possess a driver’s license and the registration plates were expired for over a year. The driver was issued 7 citations, 3 warnings, and 1 SERO.

Bring your picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a movie with the whole family under the stars. Feature Presentation: Raya and the Last Dragon. Masks are encouraged. Please try to socially distance and give six feet of space between groups.
