City Youth UMD Summer Camp Scholarships - Application Extended!
For Rising K-12 City Students

Summer is almost here!

The City of College Park provides scholarships for rising kindergarteners through 12th graders who are College Park residents to summer camps held at the University of Maryland in the summer of 2020.

Click here to Apply!   The application deadline has been extended to Friday, March 27, 2020. The application can be sent via email to [email protected] .

The application will contain a non-comprehensive list of available summer camps at the University of Maryland, along with instructions as to how to find more camp offerings. Please remember our application is not an application for a summer camp, only an application for the scholarship.

Noise and Nuisance Municipal Infractions
March 7 - March 15, 2020
There were no Municipal Infractions issued for the Noise or Nuisance (Unruly Social Gathering) Ordinances.
Weekly Highlights of Contract Police Activity
March 6 - March 12, 2020
3/7 Contract officer was on proactive patrol and observed an individual with an open alcoholic beverage in the 7500 block of Rhode Island Avenue. Student referral was submitted.

3/7 Contract officer was on proactive patrol and observed an individual with an open alcoholic beverage at Knox Road and Rhode Island Avenue. Student referral was submitted.

3/8 Contract officer responded to a call for service for a loud party. Officers located the source of the loud party in the 7500 block of Dickenson Avenue. The respondents observed the officers and fled into the residence and refused to answer the door. A friend called the respondents and they eventually answered the door. Criminal charges are pending, and 2 student referrals were submitted. 

3/9 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Speed Enforcement) in the 9000 block of Baltimore Avenue. 74 citations were issued as the officer was operating the portable “Mobile Camera.”

3/9 Contract officers attended the Hollywood Community Meeting.

3/10 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Speed Enforcement) in the 9000 block of Baltimore Avenue. 18 citations were issued as the officer was operating the portable “Mobile Camera.”

3/10 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Speed Enforcement) in the 5200 block of Campus Drive. 9 citations were issued as the officer was operating the portable “Mobile Camera.”

3/11 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign & Speed Enforcement) at Saint Andrews Place and Duke Street. 1 citation and 2 warnings were issued.

3/11 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign & Speed Enforcement) at Saint Andrews Place and Davidson Street. 1 citation and 6 warnings were issued.
