The Final Fall Cleanup is tomorrow from 7:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Department of Public Works.

City residents can get free screened compost during this event (up to 2 cubic yards per trip, must show proof of residency).

Residents can also drop-off bulky trash, appliances, electronics for recycling, brush, and yard trim and along with donations of surplus gently-used, and salvaged home improvement supplies for Community Forklift and gently used articles of clothing, shoes, blankets, collectibles, kitchenware, toys and sporting goods for GreenDrop.

North College Park Community Cleanup
Saturday, October 20 | 9-11am

There will be a North College Park Community Cleanup on Saturday, October 20. Meet at 9:00 am at the intersection of Edgewood Road and Rhode Island Ave (by the Hollywood Community Garden). Trash bags, gloves and supplies will be provided and all are invited to participate. Free bagels will be provided for breakfast.
No Plastic Bags in the Cart
Just a reminder: plastic bags cannot be placed into your blue recycling carts. Recycling items cannot also be bagged; they must be loose in the cart.

Return plastic bags to grocery stores for recycling.

As the seasons are changing from summer to fall, the summer flowering annuals are being removed and replaced with fall pansies and spring flowering bulbs in the landscape beds throughout the City.

Tree Canopy Enhancement Program (TCEP) for reimbursement of the cost of an approved tree up to $150.00 annually for tree(s) planted on their residential lot. Click here for more information and application.

Weekly Highlights of Contract Police Activity
October 5 - 11, 2018
10/5 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Edgewood Road and 52nd Place. 9 warning citations were issued

10/5 Contract officer tagged 3 vehicles with “bad tags” in the 5000 block of Laguna Road and 2 vehicles in the 5000 block of Niagara Road.

10/5 Contract officer responded to a loud party call in the 8100 block of 48th Avenue. A student referral was issued for the party and underage drinking.

10/8 Contract officer was on routine patrol and observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Seven Eleven Store located at 8905 Rhode Island Avenue. A registration check revealed the vehicle was stolen. The driver was arrested without incident and transported to DOC for processing. The suspect resides in the Upper Marlboro area. 

10/10 Contract officer responded to a loud party call in the 7500 block of Columbia Avenue.  A student referral was issued for the party (noise violation).
