Together as Muslims, let us embark on a journey in the footsteps (
Tawheed Itibah Rasool
) and emulate the example (
) of Prophet Muhammed (P) towards compassionate simplicity for the sake of our Islam, the climate, the human family, and the community of life. Let us commit to act to make changes in three (3) areas that make the greatest impact:
- dramatically reducing emissions from our home energy use
- adopting more of a plant-based diet and reducing food waste
- minimizing automobile and air travel
Because of the gravity of our situation, substantial and long-term changes in these areas are indispensable if we are to reach a 1.5⁰C future, particularly for those of us in communities whose carbon footprints exceed sustainable levels.
As a sign of that commitment to the Earth and our future - let us participate in and observe
on Saturday, March 24th at 8:30pm Eastern Time!
What starts as a simple flick of the light switch for Earth Hour brings us all together in a collective display of our commitment to creating a better future for the planet. We need your help to ensure our commitment is stronger than ever and seen all around the world.
Join with the millions around the globe and turn out your lights for one hour on Saturday, March 24th at 8:30pm Eastern Time and take a stand for the Earth and against climate change.
