Hillsborough Firewise USA is a citizen volunteer organization. This survey is to hear about your property/fire insurance experiences. The more responses we get, the more useful for all of us.

Many California communities have lost or have reduced insurance coverage including many in San Mateo County. We are committed to safety and proactive fire risk reduction in Hillsborough and to demonstrate this to the insurance industry. All survey information collected will remain confidential.

Due to the impacts of the recent atmospheric storm events, California is extending the tax filing deadline for San Mateo County residents impacted by December and January winter storms to October 16, 2023 – aligning with the IRS. The extension was also granted for numerous other California counties as well.

This relief applies to deadlines falling on or after January 8, 2023, and before October 16, 2023, including the 2022 individual income tax returns due on April 18 and the quarterly estimated tax payments, typically due on January 17, 2023 and April 18, 2023. Those payments were previously extended to May 15, 2023 for those impacted by winter storms.
