Feature Article: COVID-10 Takes Heavy Toll on Commercial Property Values

In the midst of the pandemic, property owners were taxed as if COVID-19 was not impacted commercial real estate. The government continued to tax commercial properties for all of 2020 on values that ignored the severe economic consequences. Taxpayers of commercial real estate should look for three factors that could help them build a case for a lower tax assessment: widespread losses, reduced functionality, and adverse economic trends.
