Now that the weather is finally cooling off, you can expect to see spinach in your CSA boxes more regularly. We usually put a 1/2 lb. in each box, but if you want more, we are offering cases of 2 lbs ($10) or 4 lbs ($18) in the CSA Store. We grow a flatleaf variety of spinach that is sweet and delicate. To keep the weeds down and out of your mix, we weed our spinach with tractor implements, as well as hand weeding. I try to eat it sooner than the other vegetables in my box. Though it holds pretty well for up to 5 days, it is best enjoyed closer to its harvest. I recommend storing it in a plastic bag in the fridge to keep it fresh.
