Fun Friday: Senior Citizen Day!

Dress up like a senior citizen! Pull out your best old-fashioned clothes and wear them to camp!

Clothes should still be camp appropriate - students need to be able to participate in PE and follow camp dress code guidelines.

Field trip next week!

Who: ONLY students who have completed grades 6 and higher

When: Thursday, July 7 DURING CAMP

Where: Sky Zone Doral

We will be taking a school bus from camp to the field trip location. Please make sure you fill out the Sky Zone waiver or else your student will not be able to participate in the field trip.

What if my child will not be attending the field trip?

If your student is in Concert Band or Strings Orchestra (grades 6+) and will NOT be attending the field trip, please email [email protected] no later than Monday, July 3. If your child will not be attending the field trip, they will have to stay home from camp that day because all of their teachers will be chaperones on the field trip.

If your student is in Exploratory Band, Exploratory Strings, Preparatory Strings, or Young Mozarts (grades 6+) and will NOT be attending the field trip, please email [email protected] no later than Monday, July 3. Your child can still attend camp that day following their regular schedule.

We need an updated roster of who will be attending the field trip no later than Monday July 3, so please be sure to email [email protected] if your student will not be attending!

No camp on July 4!

Thank you for following our drive through drop off procedures! We will continue to use drive through drop off and pick up tomorrow, 6/30.

There is construction taking place at our True North camp site. Our regular entrance gate on 86th street is CLOSED to parent traffic - you will not be able to access the parking lot from that gate as it will be used as a construction entrance only. To ensure our drop off is as safe and efficient as possible, there will be no left-hand turns allowed from 79th Ave into the parking lot AND NO U-turns at the stop sign on the corner of 79th Ave and 86th St (see map below).

You MUST use GMYS issued parking tag we provided with your student's name during pick up and drop off. Families will drive into the drop off line next to the cafeteria and remain in the car while GMYS staff assist with loading your student and their belongings into and out of the car. GMYS Staff will bring the sign in clipboard directly to your car. Again, your GMYS tag must be displayed on your dashboard so that we can read your student's name. If you do not have the GMYS issued parking tag, we will be verifying your identification when you pick up your student.

Please do not park your car in any of the parking spots at True North. You must use the large entrance on 79th Ave for both entrance and exit into the parking lot.

NEW POLICY

In order to increase the safety and security of all students and staff members at our camp location, parents and other adults will not be permitted to enter our camp buildings between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm. This also includes impromptu discussions with staff and teachers in parking lots due to increased traffic flow.

If you need to speak with a staff member, please send us an email to make an appointment for a brief phone call or zoom meeting. This includes if you need to discuss your student's schedule, absences, ensemble placement, or any questions you may have.

Claim your lost and found items!

If your student has lost something at camp, please check with a camp staff member at the desk during drop off or pickup so we can return it to you!

Camp ID Badges

Please make sure your student is wearing their camp-issued ID badge around their neck for a smoother check in process! Remember that an adult accompanying the student must physically sign them in.

Anyone picking up a student will be asked to show ID! If you would like to update the people authorized to pick up your student, please email [email protected].

Hay obras de construcción en nuestro sitio de campamento True North.
