EDUCATION FUNDING IS BOTH A STATE AND NATIONAL ISSUE
THE US DOE HAS REJECTED THE NOTION THAT SPENDING more money equates to different results in education. However, recent studies show that it raises test scores and graduation rates, and lowers the dropout rate. Meanwhile, in NY, Governor Cuomo just kicked off a battle over education funding, making the argument that the focus should be on school district distribution of aid, and not on the State's underfunding of foundation aid.
