EVERY DISTRICT DOES THINGS A BIT DIFFERENTLY
IT'S COLD OUTSIDE, SO TAKE THE EDGE OFF WINTER by networking with colleagues from other districts and sharing thoughts on topics such as Fostering Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness, Facilitating Grassroots Advocacy, BOE Self-Evaluation, and more. Once registered, Board Members and Superintendents will get to choose their discussion preferences. Your District Clerk will handle registration (cost is $20 per person for dinner).
TALK WITH YOUR NYS LEGISLATORS FACE-TO-FACE
AS COMMUNITY LEADERS, IT'S OUR JOB TO MAKE SURE LAWMAKERS KNOW what is happening in our public schools, and understand what our public schools need (and don't need). The annual Legislative Forum is a great opportunity to have these conversations and bring info back to your district, whether it's data from the regional advocacy handbook or feedback from your district's legislator. The forum is coming up on February 28th at 7:00 pm, so register soon (there's no fee for attending - you can sign up directly by clicking below).
THE GOV GAVE HIS STATE OF THE STATE THIS WEEK AND LAID OUT HIS EXEC BUDGET PROPOSAL
WPSBA HAS ALREADY DISAGGREGATED THE FOUNDATION AID PROPOSAL so you can see how it affects your district. Specifically, we have concerns about the minimal increases in our region. WPSBA has a chart that breaks down the stats by district (continue to check our website for data updates).
