Nominations are now open for the Vermont ATHENA Leadership Award® and the Vermont ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award®!

The ATHENA Leadership Award® is a very prestigious recognition presented to a person who provides significant mentoring and direction to women professionals. This award honors individuals who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community in a meaningful way, and forge paths of leadership for women to follow.

To receive the ATHENA Leadership Award®, the nominee must meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession
• Provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in their community
• Actively assists others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential

The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® program was founded in 2007 by ATHENA International to honor emerging women leaders who demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession. Recipients must also demonstrate their commitment to service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in their community while serving as a role model for young women personally and professionally.

The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® recognizes women 40 years old and younger who meet each of the following criteria:

• Demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession
• Provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community
• Clearly serves as a role model for young women personally and professionally
• Is 40 years old or younger

The Process
ATHENA Leadership Award® nominees must work in Vermont. Prior recipients are not eligible. You may nominate yourself or others using the above criteria, and you may also submit nominations for multiple nominees.

Hosting a mixer is a great way to bring people into the doors of your business for them to learn more about what your business does and how they can take advantage of the products or services you provide your customers. It is also a great way to network with fellow Chamber members and community leaders.

Chamber Member Leads Group
Are you interested in using a leads group as one of your prospecting strategies to grow your business? A leads group can be a very powerful way of generating referrals. The Chamber's leads groups will allow members of noncompetitive business categories to network, build relationships, and generate referrals. Leads Groups are open to Central VT Chamber members & each group is limited to one member per business category. Members are required to meet attendance.
Meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of every month at 9:30am on zoom.
Expectations of Leads Group Members:
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings
  • Whenever possible encourage a guest to participate in the meeting should the member not be available to attend
  • Help fellow members grow their business through positive referrals and word of mouth marketing
  • Maintain active membership in the Central VT Chamber of Commerce
What Should Leads Group Members Expect:
  • A team of up to ten local professionals that will help you grow your business
  • Monthly opportunities to share about your business with the group along with an extended opportunity to provide a detailed presentation about your business annually
  • Networking in a fun and productive environment without needless rules and fees

RVG & WDEV are producing a 2-3 minute video for CVHS Walk for Animals on June 11. In conjunction with the video portion, we will be sharing posts regarding the walk and highlighting the Pets of Radio Vermont Group in regular social media posts leading up the event.
The CVHS Walk for Animals Production Sponsorship is $250 and sponsors will receive inclusion and placement of their logo in the video as well as mentions and tags in social media posts incorporating CVHS, the business, and RVG. 2022 Vermont Community Leadership Summit
Wednesday, August 10, 2022
The Vermont Council on Rural Development has announced their 2022 Vermont Community Leadership Summit! The event will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, Vermont. The Summit agenda will include skills workshops, networking opportunities, community project panels, and forum discussions.
This event will be an all-inclusive summit aiming to bring new and established voices together from across Vermont. Anyone who is serving on local commissions, taking the lead or taking a stand in their community, or who is engaged in advancing a positive future for their town, city, or state is encouraged to join the conversation. Speakers and participants will represent the full diversity of Vermont community members and leaders including youth, municipal leaders, community organizers and volunteers, people with lived experience with critical challenges facing our communities, experts and technical assistance providers, regional leaders, and more.

With your help, and the help of some fabulous characters, Abby looks for answers crossing borders between English and French, past and the present, histories and stories. (The show is bilingual, but you don’t have to be! There will be subtitles!)

The conference rooms at the Central VT Chamber offices, also known as Beaulieu Place, are available for meetings and events again!
Two conference rooms separated by a fold away wall can host meetings and events from just a few people to over 40. Centrally located in a prime space just off exit 7 from I-89, with free parking, coffee/tea, LCD projector, speakerphone and more, what more could you ask for in a conference room space?!
