Congratulations to Large Business of the Month, Frontier Natural Gas Company of Elkin, NC! Since 1998 this large business has provided numerous locations in North Carolina with safe, reliable natural gas services and continues to be a great supporter of the community! The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce staff had the pleasure of attending a holiday lunch with Frontier Natural Gas on Friday, Dec. 21. It was fantastic to learn more about the company and meet its amazing team members.

Chamber Elects New Board Members
 
The Board of Directors for the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce recently elected five new members to their board:
 
  • Connie Hamlin, RidgeCrest Retirement LLC
  • Chris Lumsden, President and CEO, Northern Hospital of Surry County
  • Dr. Kim Morrison, Superintendent, Mount Airy City Schools
  • Dr. Travis Reeves, Superintendent, Surry Co. Public Schools
  • Hall Roberts, Allegacy Federal Credit Union
 
The Nominating Committee of the Chamber reviewed over 30 names that were submitted by Chamber members this past fall. After review, the committee nominated the five persons listed above. The Chamber board voted to accept five new board members at the November 16 meeting. Chamber Board members serve for three year terms. This group will begin their terms on January 1, 2019. Congratulations to all!

As we come closer to the new year, it is a crucial time to plan future events! Many dates in 2019 are available for members of The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce to host a networking-focused Business After Hours.

JANUARY 24, 2019 - ANNUAL MEETING
The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce's 58th Annual Meeting will be held at Cross Creek Country Club on Thursday, January 24, 2019 beginning at 6:30pm. At the Annual Meeting we will review year 2018, share plans for 2019, and present the 2018 Citizen of the Year award. We will also enjoy cocktails and dinner, and hear from Keynote Speaker, Chris Lumsden, President & CEO of Northern Hospital of Surry County.
