Preschool & Kids Worship

Children will join their families in the sanctuary for worship; be sure to visit the pray-ground for resources to aid your family in worship! At the offering children will be invited to Preschool (3 yo-Pre-K) and Kids (K-2) Worship. This week's lesson is A Question About Taxes from Matthew 22:15-22. This week's leaders are Mary Cronin & Sofie Hillen in Preschool Worship and Cynthia Kidd & Laura Beth Winder in Kids Worship.

Nursery

We offer a volunteer-staffed nursery for children 2 and under for any families who would like to utilize it during worship. This week's lesson is Abraham & Sarah. Thanks to our worship nursery volunteers this week, Mike Rosendale & Juliet Slocum.

Opportunities Sundays at 9 a.m.

We offer several options for those of all ages to engage in Bible Study and community Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. We invite you to be a part of one these opportunities this Sunday!

FirstKIDS @ 9 | Room 206 (Library)

Kids preschool through 5th grade get ready for the best hour of the week! You are invited to join us for this jam-packed time with choir, music, a Bible lesson, games, and lots of fun! We're currently getting ready to play bells in worship next Sunday and sing in worship on November 22. This week's lesson is Ruth & Naomi from Ruth 1.

FirstYOUTH | Room 14

A time of Bible study and fellowship for our Middle & High School students. This week's lesson is Bricks, Blocks, and Bible Stories focusing on Genesis 12:1-9.

Basic Christian Beliefs | Room 1

A 12-week study exploring what Christians actually believe and why.

This week's lesson is focusing on The Church & Forgiveness.



Digging Deeper | Heritage Hall

A group of adults of all ages. They are currently studying of the Gospel of John.

Masters Class | Conference Room

A group of adults of all ages, utilizing the Formations curriculum to facilitate class discussion. October's focus is Israel's Giving. This week's lesson is Share with the Hungry focusing on Isaiah 58:6-12.

Sonshine Class | Room 10

A group composed primarily of retired adults, this class utilizes the Formations curriculum to facilitate class discussion. October's focus is Israel's Giving. This week's lesson is Share with the Hungry focusing on Isaiah 58:6-12.

Special Needs Class | Room 9

This group of adults with intellectual disabilities is part of our Special Needs Ministry.

This week's lesson is Nehemiah Rebuilds the Wall.

We offer a volunteer-staffed nursery for children 2 and under for any families who would like to utilize it during the 9 o'clock hour. This week's lesson is Noah. Thanks to our 9 a.m. nursery volunteers this week Jennifer Burger & Alicia Harrison.

10 a.m. Coffee & Pastries Fellowship in the Narthex

We invite you to join us this Sunday in the Narthex for coffee, juice, and other goodies along with fellowship with your church family before our worship service begins.

Offering for Global Missions Emphasis
2026 Church Goal: $10,000

The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Offering for Global Missions supports the long-term presence of CBF field personnel across the world. We emphasize this offering throughout the month of October.

Sawgrass Lake Elementary Trunk-or-Treat
Friday, October 23 | 6-8 p.m.

As part of our growing partnership with our neighborhood public school, Sawgrass Lake Elementary, our missions committee & community events team invite you to take part in the Sawgrass Lake Trunk-or-Treat!

The event is Friday, October 23, 6-8 p.m. at Sawgrass Lake Elementary. Around 500 kids and their families are expected. First Baptist folks can decorate their cars and help distribute candy. The church will provide some candy for each trunk, and you're invited to bring some with you, too.

This year's trunk-or-treat theme is "Creatures of the Deep" - a spooky under-the-sea motif of sea monsters, shipwrecks, and glowing jellyfish - but you're also welcome to decorate your own way.

The Everybody Birthday Bash
Monday, October 26 | 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Our Senior Adult Monday Fun Day crew presents "The Everybody Birthday Bash" on Monday, October 26 in Heritage Hall. Come enjoy pizza, ice cream, and cake. Bring a $10 gift for gift exchange. Please RSVP at the link below by October 21.

FAST Annual Assembly

Holy Family Catholic Church

The first of our four big justice ministry meetings for this cycle is coming up soon! At the Annual Assembly we will vote on which concerns arising from our listening process we are going to work to address this year. Every network member who attends Annual Assembly gets a vote, so please be present and help set our course for the coming year!

We will select two of the following five concerns to address this cycle:

Rent & Housing Affordability

Daycare & Childcare Cost

School Concerns Related to Bullying & Violence

Homelessness

Elder Care

All of these concerns are important, and whichever two are selected we will research solutions we will ask public officials to implement at this year's Nehemiah Action (on Monday, April 12, 2027 at First Baptist).

Men's Fellowship - November 12

Join us for a Men's Fellowship (15 and older) at the USF vs Memphis football game. We'll tailgate at First Baptist beginning at 6:30 p.m., enjoying hamburgers and hotdogs before we head over to Raymond James Stadium for kickoff. The cost is $30 per person. Sign up at the link below!
