The First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg exists to help people experience God's gift of life in Jesus.

A Note From The Pastor: Offering A Call

First Baptist Family,

As I shared at the conclusion of worship this past Sunday, our Associate Pastor Search Committee has been earnestly at work this year seeking to find the person God has been preparing for us to call as our next Associate Pastor; and their diligent work has brought us to a clear conclusion. I shared that person would be preaching in response to our cal on Sunday, October 19.

It is now my great joy to share with you that our Associate Pastor Search Committee was unanimous is offering the call to serve as the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg to Rev. Robin Priddy.

I am so excited for you all to begin to get to know Robin next weekend, and thrilled she's coming to join the good work God is doing in and through First Baptist.

Of course you'll get a fuller introduction to Robin during her call weekend, but I would love to share just a bit about her now.

Robin currently serves as the Children's Pastor at Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. There she's led a robust children's ministry and served as the primary pastoral liaison to the church's weekday preschool program. She also developed a special needs ministry program for children birth-5th grade and cultivated a system that prepares children & families for children's engagement in corporate worship.

Prior to beginning her ministry at JCBC, Robin served as Associate Pastor of Children and Activities at First Baptist Church of Waco, Texas. That role included directing a summer day camp program and coordinating children's sports outreach leagues. She also walked with that congregation through a major remodel of the church's facilities including children's spaces, adult education space, and the sanctuary.

Robin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a Public Relations and Health Communication emphasis from Campbell University and a Master of Divinity from Baylor University's Truett Seminary (Sic 'Em Bears!).

She has also engaged with the larger Baptist family in a variety of ways. She currently serves as the Co-President of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Children's Ministry Network. She was both a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Fellow and a member of the Baptist General Association of Virginia's Uptick Voice Cohort.

Above and beyond all this, our search committee was so impressed by Robin's love for Jesus and her clear desire to help the church build disciples in a way that connects all ages with Christ and with each other.

Robin is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. She is married to Dylan who you will also love getting to know next weekend. (He is also a graduate of Baylor University's Truett Seminary - double Sic 'Em Bears!)

Again, I cannot adequately express how delighted I am for Robin to come serve alongside our church family! Thanks be to God!

I'd also like to express my deep appreciation to the members of our Associate Pastor Search Committee for their arduous and prayerful work throughout this process. Thank you to Jenn Burger (Chair), Paula Adams, Randy Bayless, Danny Gordon, Jim Latchford, and Sally Rosendale.

And one final note, as thrilled as our church family is for Robin and Dylan to be coming to us, we recognize that requires them to bid farewell to a congregation they love and who dearly love them. Please join me in praying for our sister church JCBC and the Priddys during this season of transition.

I know you all are eager to welcome Robin & Dylan to St Pete and into our church family. We'll be sharing more soon about all the plans for next weekend and beyond to help us do just that.

Thank you for your faithfulness which makes it possible for us to grow our staff and become evermore the church God is calling us to be. These are exciting days for the First Baptist family!

Blessings,

Ben
