JOIN US TO WELCOME THESE VISITORS

Sondy at Worship this Sunday

As you may know I am leaving my position as the Church Administrator,  I will be speaking at Church on Palm Sunday to say Thank You for the most wonderful 5 years at the Church.   Hope to see you there.

My last day will be on Thursday April 18, the day before Good Friday.  Dave and I are heading to live in Malakwa, BC for the summer (just this side of Sicamous).

Dave's brother owns the Old Malakwa Post office on Malakwa Road, we will be  renovating it as it had sat empty for 25 years. It is 117 years old and was a working post office until the mid 1980's.  The PO is just a few doors down from the Old Malakwa United Church.  We plan to take a break from renovating to go boating and play on the Shuswap.  Dave has family and we have friends in the area.

We would like to extend an invitation to anyone driving down the highway this summer to stop  take a break from driving and have a  visit.  My email is [email protected] and I will be keeping my Alberta phone for some time at 403-679-1053 feel free to call or text. (and I am serious!!!).

~ Sondy

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's Church and Toddler care for Sunday Services are key ways that we support the faith development of children, and hospitality to young families.

Children may go to Children's Church after the first hymn and return later in the service in time for the anthem.  We are making a couple of adjustments to the Sunday service to give a bit more time for the Children's Church lesson, and a bit less back-in-the service time.

Easy to lead lessons are ready for use, in the upstairs cupboard.

Please sign up on the Sunday clipboard to help!

CYCLONE IDAI

Your donation to the Cyclone Idai appeal can be doubled by the Canadian government. Canada announced on April 1 that it will match donations made on or after March 15 until April 15, 2019.

Cyclone Idai swept through Southern Africa in March 2019, leaving terrible disaster in its wake. Severe flooding and devastation has affected millions people in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. United Church Mission & Service partner ACT Alliance, together with local partners, are assessing the impact of the crisis on the ground in order to provide immediate assistance, minimize loss of life, and ensure that the needs of the most vulnerable are met.

The United Church sent an initial contribution of $20,000 to partners and is launching an church-wide appeal to respond to massive emergency needs and support eventual rehabilitation and rebuilding. Find out how you can help or Donate now.
