LENT

Lent starts on Wednesday March 6th.

Moderator Richard Bott's Lenten message for 2019
Moderator Richard Bott's Lenten message for 2019

In his Lenten message, Moderator Richard Bott reminds us that this season is a time to think, deeply, about our relationship with God. He asks us each to consider meeting with another disciple of Jesus, and exploring the question, "How is it with your soul?"
NEW COPIER

In the spirit of saving money we  negotiated a new contract with Canon.  This gets us a lower per sheet rate, lower monthly rate and a new more efficient copier.  Works the same as the old one just looks way cooler.  ~ Sondy

NEWSLETTER INFO NEEDED

Please feel free to email the office with any Church or Ministry related events or goings on. Please send info by Wednesday each week.

Many thanks!!!  Sondy

Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good ways lie; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls... Jeremiah 6.16

Lent offers the gift of wilderness wandering, foreheads anointed with ashes, open to wonder and  to listening deeply, as if for the first time.

...and on the white stone is written a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it.   Revelation 2:17

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's Church and Toddler care for Sunday Services are key ways that we support the faith development of children, and hospitality to young families.

Children may go to Children's Church after the first hymn and return later in the service in time for the anthem.  We are making a couple of adjustments to the Sunday service to give a bit more time for the Children's Church lesson, and a bit less back-in-the service time.

Easy to lead lessons are ready for use, in the upstairs cupboard.

Please sign up on the Sunday clipboard to help!

CYAN - Canmore Young Adult Network

MOVE MOUNTAINS FESTIVAL

The Canmore Young Adult Network (CYAN) aims to create an inclusive Canmore where young adults are given the opportunity to build relationships and play an active role in creating their community. In an effort to do so, we are hosting our second Move Mountains Festival (MMF) on
Friday, March 15th 2019.

The MMF is an event that is brought to you by young adults, for young adults. This is the chance for us, to get together, listen to live music, and create a platform for our voices. Not only will there be live music from local artists , there will also be the three local MLA candidates in attendance, ready to share their platform and listen to your questions, comments and concerns.

This event is for everyone who calls Canmore home, whether that's for the long run, or just for now. It is for everyone who has struggled with the high costs of living, or the lack of social opportunities. At MMF, you'll get to hear all about the platforms that exist to change this, and you'll be given the opportunity to voice any concerns and suggestions you may have on these issues and more.
Please join CYAN on March 15th in making this event a huge success. Together, we can and we will show Canmore that our voices are here, that they matter, and that we are ready to MAKE SOME NOISE!

We do expect to sell out, so it's best to have your ticket purchased in advanced. Included in your ticket price of $10 is one drink ticket (worth $5) and food at the event, because we will be selling alcohol this event is 18+ and we will have to check your ID at the entrance. There will also be a cash only bar.
For more info on the upcoming election you can find out if you are eligible to vote & how to register as a voter here:  https://www.elections.ab.ca/current-election-information/

To purchase your tickets, please head on over to  Ticket Tailor!

Bow Valley expecting second Syrian refugee family

BY JENNA DULEWICH  FEB 21, 2019

BOW VALLEY - Wearing a pair of red and white Canada mittens, Dana and Waill Tatari were brought to tears in a recent Facebook video.
"Someone remembers us," Dana said with a big smile. "We exist in this world."
This February marks the two-year anniversary since organizers with the Bow Valley Syrian Refugee Project put in an application to accept a second Syrian refugee family and the Tataris are hopeful to join the community by the end of the year.

Waill and Dana Tatari are expected to arrive within the next six months.
LIVESTREAM

From March 28-31, Greg and Shannon will be in Albuquerque NM for a Conference titled "The Universal Christ - another name for every thing."
