POINSETTIAS - PRE-ORDER
Ann Thorburn will be selling poinsettias to decorate our sanctuary over the Christmas season.
Plants are $15 each and donors may take them home after the Christmas Eve services to enjoy for the rest of the season.
Order forms will be available each Sunday and Ann will be taking the orders after church services until Dec 2 - alternatively, call Ann at 403 609 3510 or email her at

FAMILY CHRISTMAS CRAFT DAY
Saturday, December 15, 9:00 am-11:00 am
Crafts, snacks and singing.
Parent(s) are invited to attend with their children.

MITTEN TREE
The mitten tree is up and ready to be decorated with your gifts of Mittens, Socks, Scarves...
As we have done for many years, the donated items will be distributed to people in need at Christmastime. We will not be collecting food items this year, as we are no longer actively using our food cupboard.
Bring your donations along to Worship on Sunday or Wednesday. Thank you!

Community Advent/Christmas Service, with lessons, carols and musical performances from RCMUC and many local congregations, will be on
Sunday, December 2 at 7:00 PM
at St Mike's Hall.
Candlelight Service of Remembrance, a time to all who would like to light a candle in memory of those we have loved and who have died.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Children's Church and Toddler care for Sunday Services are key ways that we support the faith development of children, and hospitality to young families.
Children may go to Children's Church after the first hymn and return later in the service in time for the anthem. We are making a couple of adjustments to the Sunday service to give a bit more time for the Children's Church lesson, and a bit less back-in-the service time.
ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON
We have more children attending Church in December. We now have easy to lead lessons pre-prepared in the upstairs cupboard.

ALPINE VOICES THRESHOLD CHOIR
Rehearses the second and fourth Monday of each month from 7:30 - 9:00 pm in the sanctuary. Threshold Choir singing is described as "kindness made audible".

CYAN - Canmore Young Adult Network
CYAN Yoga has secured a new home for fall & winter!
Meet us at the Canmore Opera House every Wednesday from 7-8 pm, doors open at 6:45.
Class is by donation.
The yoga class is geared for everyone to enjoy - no experience or flexibility needed to participate. Minors will need a parent or guardian present.

is well under way for its new season.
Newbies welcome, no experience needed. No need to pre-register, just bring your $5 per class along with you!
Newbie Group starts at 5:00 pm in the Sanctuary with

Come for the start and stay for the finish, have fun and rock on!

This year's United Church "Gifts with Vision" book has arrived!
This year a Morley-based program, listed under "Cultural Revitalization," is one of the options. A great alternative to giving "stuff" at Christmas (or anytime!)

But it is more accurately a time to look forward to Christ's coming and Christ's reign.

Each Tuesday night, a joint book study group gathers at Ralph Connor and at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Kiel, Wisconsin. We consider ourselves "one group in two nations." Using "Google Hangouts" for our video link, we discuss topics from Marcus Borg's book, Speaking Christian. Happy Thanksgiving to our partners at St. Peter's and Immanuel United Church of Christ, and to all who celebrate Thanksgiving today! |
