PARISH NEWS & EVENTS

We at St. John are sadly aware of the devastating impacts of the wildfires in the Los Angeles area and we pray for the safety, health, well-being, and restoration of those impacted. And we pray for our Armenian family and friends in Southern California, including many whose roots are here in Detroit. A special collection for fire relief efforts was taken during the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, January 19th, though more aid is needed. Please see this page of resources from the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, which includes important information on how to support the many Armenian people and community institutions being affected. Please see also this direct appeal from the Western Diocese Deacons Council. Further communications will come from the church office as we learn more about how our community can assist our sisters and brothers in California.

DO YOU REMEMBER?

1974 ACYOA Basketball Champions

Since 1963, the Armenian American Veterans' Building has met the needs and interests of our community, from bridge classes to basketball games, Senior Lunch to ACYOA meetings, and even as a temporary sanctuary during our recent church renovations. Today, this community gem that has given us so much needs our help.

St. John needs you to join the crowd and support the Armenian American Veterans' Building renovation project, giving for the future to honor our past.

Please click here or on the image below for a brochure with more information on this vital, community-driven project. To give directly, please click here. Your participation and support is greatly appreciated!
