The Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida is excited to announce a limited reopening of the Panama City office located at 703 15th Street Suite A, Panama City as of Monday, February 18, 2019. At this time, we will be seeing families only in this office. Be looking for an update on the full grand opening in March.

The Office of Early Learning has started testing the long awaited EFS MOD 3.5 release. This version contains the School Readiness attendance features, and some other enhancements. The Coalition will inform providers when 3.5 is ready for full deployment, however, in the meantime we will move forward with the contingency payment process for February's attendance process.
To assist with the February attendance, the Coalition has created blank attendance rosters using EFS MOD enrollment data. The rosters will be uploaded to the Coalition Document Exchange beginning tomorrow, February 21. If you have any missing children or other children that need to be added, you may still use the blank roster found on our website. If you need additional assistance, you can email the

January School Readiness Reimbursement Update
|
As follow up to the February Face-to-Face meeting, the Coalition has revised the January School Readiness and PFP Reimbursement Detail Reports. These reports are being uploaded to the Coalition Document Exchange for providers to use to reconcile January payments.

ECE at GCSC Spring Semester Begins Feb. 28 - Register Now
|
Early Childhood Education Spring 2019 Semester classes begin February 28.
Note: Before students can register for any classes at Gulf Coast State College, they must apply for admission at
www.gulfcoast.edu and click APPLY. There is a $20 application fee. If you have been a student at GCSC before, but it has been several years, you will need to apply for readmission at the same website and pay the $10 readmission fee.

Rilya Wilson Absence Reporting Update
|
If a child under protective service has an unexcused absence or seven (7) consecutive excused absences, child care providers are required to notify Big Bend Community Based Care. Please do not wait until the end of the week to call in unexcused absences; these should be called in as they happen. Providers are not required to call in excused absences unless they meet the 7 consecutive days criteria.
Some Bay County providers have mentioned that
407-256-8509 is not working and will not let them leave a message. Big Bend CBC has provided a new number: 850-747-5411 for Bay and Gulf. The numbers for the other counties are the same.

Behavioral Health Referrals Made Easy
|
Families First of Florida is making an effort to make referrals easier.
Families First of Florida is available to help children with mental and/or behavioral disorders. Their staff is trained and experienced to help children find constructive ways to work through and around their disorders to achieve a successful future. They also provide counseling services for family members to teach them how to provide a loving and supportive environment for the child.
If you know of a child or family who is in need of these services, please refer them to Families First. They can meet with the family and help them find hope in the midst of their struggle. If necessary, they can even step in and help find a foster home for a child in the event of an emergency.

Children's Week "Hanging of the Hands"
|
It's ALMOST that time of year again!
Children's Week will be March 24 - March 29, 2019. You can begin crafting hand artwork as soon as you would like. This year we are asking that each program string together their hand art onto 8- to 10-foot strands/strings and attach a name card including the program name, program city, class name and class age group. We want our legislators to spot hand art from their hometown.
DON'T FORGET!
Strands of hand art will be collected at the
March Face-to-Face Meeting or you can drop off your strands at any Early Leaning Coalition office (Chipley or Marianna). For more information on the locations of our Coalition offices visit www.elcnwf.org.
