Ohio Muslim Community met with the Governor.

ICGC was represented by Board Chair Dr. Tariq Sultan, Vice Chair Dr. Samina Sohail, and ED Henry Hane, at a roundtable discussion with Governor Mike DeWine at the Ohio Statehouse on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. 

ICGC was joined by leaders from Noor Islamic Center in Columbus, Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, and Islamic Center of Cleveland. 

We thank Governor DeWine for extending this invitation and listening to our concerns around the safety and security of Muslim Americans. 

 It was an important conversation around the importance of framing the current narrative in a manner that supports Muslim Americans’ collective grief, protects their rights to speak up, and ensures hateful rhetoric is not tolerated. 

 It was also an important opportunity to share resources about enhancing security in our houses of worship.
