Since last week, we have been delivering hot meals to about 100 new immigrants who are in need of assistance. We request and encourage everyone to donate to the the Meal Train initiative as ongoing distributions are planned through August with your much-needed support. 

In addition, we will conduct a Food Drive from August 1st to August 6 for distribution on August 6 and 7.

STEPPING UP TO HELP RECENT IMMIGRANTS IN NEED!

Sincere appreciation to the board chair, Dr. Tariq Sultan, and fellow board and community leaders Ashraf Traboulsi, Cheikh Jelil, Munam Syed, and Gulame Asif for distributing essential food items to nearly 60 families in the Harrison area who are either recent immigrants or hosting recent immigrants. Many have fled from dire circumstances in their African homelands. They are very much in need of your support! This was the second major distribution. The first one was led by volunteer Riz Raja and other community members serving over 30 families at 2 urban Masjids. 

We request and encourage everyone to donate to the ICGC food pantry non-perishable food items or funds to obtain Halal meat for these immigrants. This is a continuing need and periodic ongoing distributions are being planned with your much needed support.

ICGC/FBI collaboration 7/19/23

In the morning board member Shabana Ahmed went to the FBI’s Cincinnati Community Engagement Council and presented to a team of FBI employees of various ranks about Islam/Muslims and addressed stereotypes and misinformation about the faith. She emphasized how Muslim Americans are tax-paying, law-abiding citizens who are a fabric of this society.

In the afternoon, ICGC hosted Jessica Maxwell-Certain, the new community engagement specialist in place at the southwest Ohio FBI district,  and special agent in charge, Will Rivers, for an abbreviated tour. 



Board Emeritus Shakila Ahmad along with vice chair, Dr. Samina Sohail, Executive Director Henry Hane, and community leader Nadeem Quraishi hosted a conversation on safety and the role of the FBI in regard to the needs of the Muslim American community in our region.

Requirements and Qualifications desired:

 1. Fluent in the recitation of the Qur'an with proper implementation of Tajweed Rules. 

2. Capable of working with young children, teenagers, & adults with various abilities.

3. Experience in teaching Qur'an and working with young children (preferred). 

4. Motivated, Patient, and has a Positive Attitude. 

5. Dedicated, Punctual, and Professional. 

6. Follows instructions, and guidelines and works well in a team.

7. Basic computer skills and Being able to use the Zoom app if needed. (preferred).
