Another Sunday of OUTREACH @ ICGC…
“Shared Grief, Different Customs” - with Imam Hossam Musa and leaders from diverse faith communities in Cincinnati exploring the customs of funerals, burial, and mourning practices of Muslim, Baptist, Sikh, Jewish, and Hindu communities. 
Co- moderated by Board Chair Emeritus Shakila Ahmad and Sandy Kaltman, a Jewish activist in Cincinnati’s interfaith community, as part of the Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati’s bicentennial commemoration.
Over 150 students from the Wyoming school district came for their annual tour of the Islamic Center as part of their educational studies in world religions. 
Tour was led by Tours and Talks Chair Shabana Shakir-Ahmed.

Tuesday, May 10, 2022 an all day major Cincinnati Chamber cultural competency program where board chair emeritus Shakila Ahmad presented ICGC, Islam and Muslim Americans to 35 leaders from across the region.

We appreciate our interfaith partner, EquaSion, for their recent statement on the violence in AlAqsa masjid during Ramadan, and their call to preserve the sanctity of sacred spaces.

CAIR-Ohio's Summer Internship Development Program - Taking place in Columbus AND Cincinnati this year.

The Summer Internship Development Program is a four-week training intensive designed for college students looking to jump-start their skills in grassroots activism and advocacy. Students gain important community connections and work experience to help advance their future academic and professional endeavors.

Miami University Study

We are researchers at Miami University leading a qualitative research study on the experiences of Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African (AMENA) teenagers and parents of teenagers. 

We are recruiting participants! In a 45 minute virtual interview, participants will be asked about their experiences as an Arab/MENA American, conversations surrounding race and ethnicity, religion, and intergenerational relations. This research study has been approved by Miami University Institutional Review Board (approval #02031r). 

All interviews will be conducted via Zoom and either video or audio recorded. Each participant will receive a $10 electronic gift card. 

Eligibility criteria:
  • Identifies as Arab/MENA
  • Teenager (ages 13-17) or a parent of a teenager
  • Resident of the USA
  • Proficient in English
