As of July 28, we have had $274,369 given and far surpassed our goal of $225,000. Your generosity has kept us from using more of our reserve funds so we can move forward in a stable financial position. I am praying God’s blessings on each of you and on Our Church.
If you have not yet had an opportunity to contribute, gifts are still warmly welcomed. Any additional donations will further strengthen the church's reserves and help prepare Prince of Peace for future maintenance needs.
Thank you again for your faithful generosity, your prayers, and your commitment to caring for the home where we gather to Know God, Grow Together, and Serve the World.
Blessings,
Brad Womble

We are pleased to welcome Michaela Zimmerman as our Summer Music Ministry Intern!
A graduate of West Springfield High School, she has been a member of Prince of Peace for approximately 13 years. Throughout that time, she has been involved in our music ministry, first singing in the Junior Choir and later as a member of HIMnals. She enjoys sharing her love of music through singing and occasionally playing the guitar.
Michaela will be installed at this Sunday's 10:30AM worship service. If you see her around campus this summer, be sure to introduce yourself and give her a warm Prince of Peace welcome!

Are you new to Prince of Peace? Or maybe you’ve been attending for a little while and would simply like to learn more? We warmly invite you to join us for a Meet Prince of Peace event on Sunday, August 9th from 9:15–10:15 AM in Room 21.
This will be a relaxed and welcoming time to hear from Pastor Michael Hayes as he shares about our church’s story, mission, and community life. It’s also a great chance for us to get to know you! Some of our staff will drop by so you can put faces to names and feel more at home here.
To help us plan, please let us know if you’ll be attending by emailing Tiffany Sears.
Childcare is available—we have a fully staffed nursery for infants through age 6, and Sunday School classes for older children. You’re also welcome to bring your children with you to the event if that’s more comfortable for you.
We hope you’ll join us!

In putting together a Christian estate plan, initiation of your efforts is the most difficult part. Often, we put off estate planning because we do not want to confront our fear of dying. Jesus said in John 11, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies. And whoever lives and believes in me will by no means die forever.” You can initiate your plans knowing full well that in Jesus, death has been conquered. Your LCMS Foundation Gift Planning Counselor can remind you of this confidence. Contact Pastor John Denninger, our Southeastern District Gift Planning Counselor - John.Denninger@LFND.org
| | Recruiting English as a Second Language (ESL) Volunteer Teachers for the Fall! | | |
We need persons with an interest in building a strong diverse community in our Prince of Peace neighborhood. Our ESL ministry has a need for daytime and evening teachers starting in September. As an ESL teacher you will interact with people from around the globe who are anxious to learn more about their new Northern VA home while learning the English language. The teaching commitment is for one day a week for two hours and requires no special teaching experience.
If you have an interest or just have questions send a note to ESL@poplc.org or call the Prince of Peace ESL Coordinator, Mark Rumohr, at 703-776-0947. Can’t wait to hear from you!

The Prince of Peace Endowment
Securing Our Future
| Do you have a vision for a new ministry or a project that aligns with our mission? The Endowment is designed to bring those visions to life. | |
The Prince of Peace Endowment is more than a fund; it is a permanent foundation for our mission. By preserving the principal and only distributing a portion of the earnings, we ensure that your gifts become a living legacy—supporting the Gospel at Prince of Peace for generations to come.
How It Works
Professional Oversight: Our funds are managed by the LCMS Foundation, providing expert, faith-aligned investment stewardship.
Integrity & Security: The Endowment is independent of the general operating budget. The church cannot "spend down" the principal, ensuring the fund remains a perpetual source of support.
Strategic Growth: A portion of annual earnings is distributed to fuel specific ministry initiatives that fall outside our normal operating expenses.
| | Don't delay! The deadline to apply for funds is August 1, 2026. |

Livestream Ministry Volunteers Needed
Can you give just one Sunday a month to help us share the Gospel beyond these walls?
Our livestream ministry reaches people who are homebound, traveling, exploring faith, or simply unable to worship with us in person. It's an important part of how we care for our church family and connect with our community.
The good news is that no experience is necessary! We'll provide all the training you need, and it's much easier than you might think. Teenagers are welcome to sign up! Whether you can serve once a month or even every other month, your time can make a real difference.
