Holy Comforters Lutheran World Relief Quilts
The quilts displayed on the pews this weekend were sewn by The Holy Comforters for Lutheran World Relief (LWR).

We especially want to remember in our prayers the citizens of Ukraine as they undergo tremendous hardships. LWR reports that warm quilts have been given to refugees and families still in Ukraine. May our quilts number among the ones sent to Ukraine. LWR distributes quilts to nations all over the world who are in the midst of crises. The baby quilts will be given to ASSIST and Capital Caring Health who give a helping hand to children under hospice care and their families.

The Holy Comforters is an interdenominational group which meets in room 27, 9:00-3:00, each Thursday, January through May. You may come and go as your time allows. Quilting knowledge is not needed. There is a job for everyone. We welcome new faces. Won't you consider joining us for fun and fellowship in January 2023? We can be reached at

Property Committee Report
The Properties Committee, which meets monthly, consists of Aivars Baumanis, Tom Beasley, Dan Dove, Bill Klett, Brad Womble, and Atilio Cruz.

The annual ministry report provides details on completed projects during this past year; please take time to look at our portion of the PoPLC 2022 Ministry Report.

Upcoming major projects:

1. Starting June 20th, 2022, there will be a major effort to repair our underground sand filters, which are not functioning properly and did not pass the county inspection in April. Fairfax County has given us about four months to remedy these expensive problems. Two of the three sand filters will be able to be renovated without disturbing the parking lot or impeding traffic flow. The third sand filter, located at the east entrance of the church near the Senior Pastor’s Office, will require excavation and closing of traffic flow. We expect work to last two weeks.

2. Following this effort, at a date to be determined, asphalt resurfacing will be required to repair the east sand filter excavation effort. The asphalt crew will also be applying a protective seal on the entire parking lot, followed by restriping of the parking places. We will let you know the work window for this effort through church communication means.

3. During this coming year, we will also be renovating the Youth Room downstairs. From floor to ceiling, the look of this space will be more appealing to our youth and the hope is that they will use the facility more often for gatherings.
