Important Things to Know

We are looking forward to welcoming Pastor Ralph this weekend (at the 10:30 worship service). Due to health concerns his family asks that you write out your greetings and congratulations in cards and bring them to give to Pastor Ralph. Please try to limit conversations with him in order to keep him safe and healthy.

There will be a Saturday evening service at 5:30 on July 30th but NO 8:15 service on Sunday, July 31st. Pastor John will be preaching at both services.

We will not have children's Sunday School on July 31st, it will resume the following weekend on August 7th.

There will be a reception following the celebration service and everyone is invited.

Next Saturday, Aug. 6th, we will have a special VBS Celebration Worship Service at the time of our regular 5:30 pm service. Please join us as we worship with VBS songs and lessons. A special puppet skit is included. Then at 7 pm there will be a Music Camp sing along. Everyone is invited and we hope to see you there!

We are looking for Difference Makers!
$27,000 of the Capital Campaign Tithe money went to the Care & Outreach Ministry to invest with the local community in partnering to provide support for current social ministry and evangelical efforts done by individuals and small organizations. In 2019 the team invested nearly $13,000 of the grant money to 7 local organizations that were making a difference in the community.

After a pandemic delay, the Outreach Ministry is looking for individuals or small organizations who are doing good for others to invest the remaining $14,000 in. Prince of Peace members are free to nominate those in the community who are making an impact, but members or those associated with PoP church or school are not eligible for the grant.

The application deadline is August 31, 2022.

Special VBS Request
Praise God we have all the teacher positions filled for VBS. Jehovah Jireh! And praise God we have over 25 children more than what we thought we’d have. However, now that we have that many children we need to minister to, we need more helpers for the classes. Would you prayerfully consider being one of these? You don’t have to teach, you just have to be there in case the teacher needs you.
ALSO, if you have weights that are 2-12 lbs. we could use them for VBS. Please label them with your name and bring them to the office.

Teachers and Assistants Needed in POP School
Prince of Peace Lutheran School is spending the summer getting the school ready for the upcoming year. We are excited to still have spots available as registration is still ongoing for the 2022-2023 school year. We offer classes that range from 2 1/2 year old to Kindergarten aged children. Prince of Peace School is always looking for qualified candidates for teachers, teaching assistants or substitutes. Please visit our website for information and for class offerings at or contact our school office at 703-451-6177 and speak to Marcel Page our School Registrar.
We need persons with an interest in building a strong diverse community in our Prince of Peace neighborhood. Our ESL program, which runs from September to May, needs people who enjoy interacting with people of various cultures who are anxious to learn the English language and more about their new home in Northern VA. The teaching commitment is for one day a week for two hours and requires no special teaching experience. Can't wait to hear from you!
