We want to take a moment to give thanks to God for the opportunity to serve our community through our annual Oktoberfest today! It is such a joy to see our church and community come together for food, fellowship, and fun. Today would not have been possible without the many hands and hearts who are serving behind the scenes.

To all of our volunteers—whether you are helping to set up, clean up, greet, cook, sing or play instruments, run activities, run pizza, serve, organize, or simply share a smile—thank you. Your time and gifts make this outreach possible, and we are truly grateful. Let’s give thanks to God for the blessing of this event and for each of you who made it happen!

Vote Affirmation for Jung Choi

We are pleased to share that the congregation has affirmed our support for Jung Choi’s admission to the Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) program at Concordia Seminary, and our intention to call him as pastor upon the completion of his vicarage and eligibility for a call.

We thank everyone who participated in this important decision. Your prayerful consideration and support reflect our shared commitment to nurturing leaders for ministry in our community.

Please continue to keep Jung and his family in your prayers as he begins this next step in his formation. Let us also encourage him as he prepares to serve among us in this new and meaningful way.

To God be the glory!

Are you new to Prince of Peace?

Join us for our next Meet Prince of Peace event

on Sunday, October 19, at 9:15am in Room 21

Are you new to Prince of Peace? Or maybe you’ve been attending for a little while and would simply like to learn more? We warmly invite you to join us for a Meet Prince of Peace event on Sunday, October 19, from 9:15–10:15am in Room 21.

This will be a relaxed and welcoming time to hear about our church’s story, mission, and community life. It’s also a great chance for us to get to know you! Some of our staff will drop by so you can put faces to names and feel more at home here.

Childcare is available—we have a fully staffed nursery for infants through age 6, and Sunday School classes for older children. You’re also welcome to bring your children with you to the event if that’s more comfortable for you.

We hope you’ll join us! You can email Tiffany Sears if you have questions.

Join us for our next Discover Experience

on Sunday, October 26, at 9:15am (Room TBD)

Whether you're considering becoming a member of Prince of Peace or are simply curious about who we are and what we believe, we warmly invite you to join us for The Discover Experience—a meaningful seven-week journey designed to help you explore faith and community.

Each week, we'll dive into essential topics such as Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, God’s Story—and how your story fits into His. It’s a time for learning, reflection, and connection in a welcoming, no-pressure environment.

The journey begins on Sunday, October 26 at 9:15am. While the experience spans seven weeks, we understand that life happens—so don’t worry if you can’t make it to every session. We’ll be happy to work with your schedule.

To sign up or learn more, please contact Tiffany Sears. We look forward to discovering together!

Remembering Our Saints

All Saints Day is a sacred time to honor and give thanks for the lives of those who have gone before us in faith. As we gather to celebrate their memory, we invite you to share the names of loved ones who have entered eternal rest in the past year.

If you would like your loved one to be remembered during our All Saints Day observance, please send the following to Tiffany.Sears@poplc.org by October 26th:

  • Full Name
  • Dates of Birth and Passing
  • Your Relationship to Them
  • A Photo

Let us join together in prayer and remembrance, lifting up the lives of those who now rest in the light of Christ.

Mission Trip Opportunity

A group of volunteers from local LCMS churches will be traveling to Spartanburg, SC this month to help out with disaster response work. This town was hit hard by Hurricane Helene last year, and volunteers are still greatly needed. Volunteers that have received chainsaw training will be working on tree removal, and other volunteers are needed to tackle debris removal and home rebuilding. The group will be leaving on 10/26, working 10/26-31, and returning on 11/1. All skill levels are welcome. If you're interested in being a part of this trip, or want to learn more about it, please contact Pastor Wayne Puls (Grace, Woodbridge; wpuls@glcvirginia.org) as soon as possible. Please keep those who’ve been affected by disasters in your prayers.

How Has God Uniquely Gifted You?

Recently, we explored what it means to be uniquely gifted by God through the power of the Holy Spirit. As part of our mission to Know God, Grow Together, and Serve the World, understanding your spiritual gifts is an essential step.

God has designed each of us with purpose—and discovering your gifts helps you live that out more fully, both in the church and beyond. To help you take that next step, we’re inviting you to complete a short Spiritual Gifts Assessment.

This tool will give you insight into how God has equipped you to contribute to the body of Christ and make a difference in the world around you.

Click here to begin your Spiritual Gifts Assessment. We will have printed copies in the church office as well.

We’re excited to walk alongside you as you discover your gifts, grow in community, and step into the unique role God has for you.
