Prince of Peace friends, your response to our Hypothermia and Angel Tree Programs have been truly overwhelming. We thank God for your generosity and for the many ways you have shared His love through financial support, time, meals, warm clothing, and thoughtful gifts. Because of you, our overnight guests are being welcomed with dignity, care, and compassion, and children are being reminded they are loved and not forgotten.

In these moments, we see our vision come to life as we Know God, Grow Together, and Serve the World. Thank you for serving with open hands and open hearts as we share the love and hope of Jesus.

ECHO Says Thank You!

Thank you, Elves and Donors!

Because of our donors' generosity, ECHO elves transformed a space in our building into a wonderland of gifts to bring joy to hundreds of children in our area whose families are struggling financially. Thanks to all who contributed!

Announcements

Are you new to Prince of Peace? Or maybe you’ve been attending for a little while and would simply like to learn more? We warmly invite you to join us for a Meet Prince of Peace event on Sunday, January 18th, from 9:15–10:15 AM in Room 21.

This will be a relaxed and welcoming time to hear from Pastor Michael Hayes as he shares about our church’s story, mission, and community life. It’s also a great chance for us to get to know you! Some of our staff will drop by so you can put faces to names and feel more at home here.

To help us plan, please let us know if you’ll be attending by emailing Tiffany Sears

Childcare is available—we have a fully staffed nursery for infants through age 4, and Sunday School classes for older children. You’re also welcome to bring your children with you to the event if that’s more comfortable for you.

We hope you’ll join us!

Read The Bible In a Year Grow Group

Have you started thinking about your New Year’s resolution? Are you hoping to read your Bible more and grow in community? Then 2026 is your year!

Join the Read Your Bible in a Year Grow Group! Christy Brown is leading a virtual accountability group that meets once a week on Monday evenings to dive into the Word and enjoy a casual check-in together. The reading plan also includes built-in catch-up time for when “life happens.”

Contact Christy Brown to register or get more information.

Connections: Dig Deeper, Live Stronger

Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00pm, Room 21

You're invited to join "Connections," a new Bible study designed specifically for women who want to connect God's Word more deeply to their week!

In honor of National Lutheran Schools Week, our 10:30 a.m. worship service on January 25 will kick off the week with a child-friendly celebration of Prince of Peace Lutheran School and its mission of making disciples of Jesus. This joyful service will include children in visible and meaningful ways and is designed for worshipers of all ages. Whether you have young children, love the energy they bring, or simply want to celebrate our school, you are warmly invited to join us for this special service.

Floral Arrangers Desperately Needed

Our altar flowers are lovingly arranged each week by volunteers from our church family, not a florist. Right now, we would love to welcome a few more people to this ministry.

If you enjoy flowers — or are curious to learn — no experience is required. We are happy to teach and support you. Volunteering is usually about once a month (or less as the team grows), the church reimburses flower costs, and you may arrange them in your own creative style.

If this sounds like something you might enjoy, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to Arla Albers. Your creativity and care could help make our worship space bloom, and we would be grateful to share this ministry with you.

Thank You from the Holy Comforters!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made Holy Comforter’s quilt sale such a success. From sewing and tying to setup, teardown, and purchasing quilts, your generosity helped nearly every quilt find a new home.

The funds raised will support batting, supplies, and shipping so we can continue sharing warmth through Lutheran World Relief, reaching far beyond our walls. A special thanks to Thrivent for the grants that made our new sewing machines possible. They have truly transformed our work, and our sewers could not be happier.

Want to join the fun? We resume Thursdays beginning January 8, from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Come for an hour or stay all day. Bring a bagged lunch, enjoy dessert on us, and jump right in. No sewing experience needed. If you can tie a shoe, we can use your help. No registration required, just show up. Fabric donations are always welcome.

Come help stitch comfort and care into the world!

Resource Corner

Each month, we will share a resource so you’re aware of what’s available at Prince of Peace. We encourage you to keep an eye on these updates, as needs can change and you never know when you or a friend, neighbor, or family member might be blessed by one of these services.

This month, we want you to know that several mobility aids are available for short-term use. Do you have a visitor or neighbor recovering who could use a walker or wheelchair? We have you covered. Contact Brad Womble.
