Congregational Vote Affirmed

Dave Shaddrix for the SMP Program

and BOSL Officers

Last Sunday, we came together as a congregation to affirm two important steps in the life and ministry of Prince of Peace—and we are grateful to share that both were affirmed unanimously!

The congregation unanimously affirmed our support for Dave Shaddrix’s admission to the Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) program at Concordia Seminary, along with our intention to call Dave as a pastor upon completion of the program requirements and once he is eligible to receive a call.

This is an exciting step for Dave and for our church family as we continue to see God raise up and equip leaders to serve His Church. Please keep Dave and his family in your prayers as he begins this next chapter of preparation and ministry.

The congregation also unanimously affirmed our new Board of Servant Leaders (BOSL) officers:

We give thanks for Mark, David, and Christy and their willingness to serve our congregation in these leadership roles.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the vote, and please continue to pray for Dave, our Board of Servant Leaders, and all that God has ahead for Prince of Peace!

Looking to take the next step in your faith journey? Be sure to stop by the Grow Group Connection Fair on September 13 in the church lobby! Grow Groups are a wonderful way to build meaningful relationships, grow in God's Word, and encourage one another throughout the week.

Whether you're new to Grow Groups or looking for a new group to join, you'll have the opportunity to meet leaders, learn about the different groups we offer, and find one that's a great fit for you.

This fall, our entire congregation will be participating in a churchwide Grow Group campaign beginning September 20. Throughout the campaign, Grow Groups will follow along with the weekly sermon series, giving everyone the opportunity to dig deeper into God's Word together and continue the conversation beyond Sunday morning.

We hope you'll stop by the Connection Fair and find a group where you can grow in faith and community as we journey through this exciting season together.

Recruiting English as a Second Language (ESL) Volunteer Teachers for the Fall!

We need persons with an interest in building a strong diverse community in our Prince of Peace neighborhood. Our ESL ministry has a need for daytime and evening teachers starting in September.  As an ESL teacher you will interact with people from around the globe who are anxious to learn more about their new Northern VA home while learning the English language.  The teaching commitment is for one day a week for two hours and requires no special teaching experience.
