| | Who Won the 2026 Chili Cook-Off? | | |
The Chili Cookoff heated things up on Saturday, January 24th—and the Fellowship Hall was buzzing! The room was packed with guests enjoying great laughter, warm fellowship, and toe-tapping accordion music that set the perfect mood. Seventeen mouthwatering chili entries battled it out, and every single one brought bold flavor and serious competition.
After some tough (and tasty!) deliberation, our winners were crowned:
🥇 1st Place: Brad Womble
🥈 2nd Place: Matthew Baumgardt
🥉 3rd Place: Carolyn Thomas
A huge thank-you goes out to our expert judges, Judson Quicksall and Omar Bohorquez, who bravely sampled every entry and took on the deliciously difficult task of choosing the winners. We couldn’t have done it without you!
| | Attention Men of Prince of Peace | | |
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church has launched a new Ministry Action Team (MAT) focused on Men’s Ministry. The purpose of the Men’s MAT is to engage and unite PoPLC men through spiritual growth, fellowship, outreach, and service as we strive together to Know God, Grow Together, and Serve the World.
We will do this by offering a variety of activities and events—both large-group gatherings and individual opportunities—designed to support connection and growth.
You can help shape this ministry by taking a few minutes to complete a brief survey and sharing your ideas. The survey will remain open through February 15. If you have already completed the survey at a Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, there is no need to complete it again.
Thank you for your time and participation.

Serving the World Through ECHO | | |
ECHO’s Food Pantry uses paper grocery bags and plastic sleeves that are used for home-delivered newspapers. While these are things one might normally recycle or discard, we ask you to save them for ECHO
Currently, the Food Pantry especially needs Masa flour, spaghetti sauce, lemon juice, canned fruits packed in juice, laundry detergent, shampoo and deodorant, but they can use all types of non-perishable foods and hygiene items. Please choose “regular” sizes, not giant-sized products. Remember that, for safety purposes, ECHO cannot distribute foods that are past an expiration date or that have been opened or re-packaged.
If you have donations you can drop them off right here at Prince of Peace! There is a large white bin on wheels in the hallway off the church office. Just drop your items in there anytime!
| | Please help us spread the word about our awesome school! | | |
All students in Grades 1-6 are invited to join us for an evening of fellowship, games, and fun! Our February Kingdom Club will meet on Saturday, February 21st, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in the Youth Room. We will have pizza and many fun games and activities. Please register your child by February 18th if they plan to attend!

Each month, we will share a resource so you’re aware of what’s available at Prince of Peace. We encourage you to keep an eye on these updates, as needs can change and you never know when you or a friend, neighbor, or family member might be blessed by one of these services.
This month, we want you to know that several mobility aids are available for short-term use. Do you have a visitor or neighbor recovering who could use a walker or wheelchair? We have you covered. Contact Brad Womble.
