Supporting Families During
the Government Shutdown
| | If you or someone you know is being affected by the government shutdown and in need of assistance, please reach out to Brad Womble. We want to walk alongside our church family and community during this time. | | |
Next Sunday, November 9, we will take time in our worship services to celebrate and honor those who serve — and who have served — in our nation’s Armed Forces.
If you are a veteran or currently serving, we would love for you to join us as we recognize your service and express our gratitude. If you’re able, please consider wearing your uniform that day as we give thanks to God for you and your commitment to our country.

Bethany House Update
Thank you so much for your prayers as Bethany House goes through a time of transition to continue serving victims of domestic violence. During this downtime, we’ve been able to complete needed maintenance on the first home and finish renovations on the second home, which will be ready for service in the next few weeks.

To provide cheer at Thanksgiving, ECHO will connect donors with local families who would be grateful to receive the gift of groceries for a festive holiday meal. Donors may deliver food that they purchase themselves or may mail a food store gift card to the family(ies) assigned to them. Groceries should be delivered, or cards should be mailed to arrive by November 22. If you’re interested in finding out more, email Fran Eck at franalaneck@msn.com.
The ECHO elves are busily planning the Holiday Gift Shop. ECHO needs donations no later than December 5th of new toys (not gift-wrapped, please) for children ages 0-15. Donors may bring toys to the white bin near the church office. As an alternative, gifts may be chosen from our Amazon Gift Wish List to be shipped directly to ECHO. The wish list link can also be found on our website, www.echo-inc.org, by clicking on Seasonal Programs under the Donate tab. Popular gifts include baby dolls, scooters with helmets, soccer balls (sizes 3,4,5), riding toys, and family board games. See a complete list of suggestions on the website.

Prison Fellowship Angel Tree
Coming to Prince of Peace this Christmas!
| | |
Share the Joy of Christmas through Angel Tree
This Christmas, Prince of Peace is partnering with Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree® program to share the love and hope of Jesus with children in our community who have a parent in prison. Through Angel Tree, we’ll deliver Christmas gifts on behalf of incarcerated parents—each one accompanied by a personal message of love and encouragement.
This simple act of giving not only brings joy to a child on Christmas morning but also helps maintain family connections and opens the door for meaningful ministry opportunities throughout the year.
Learn more about the Angel Tree program and the powerful impact it has on families across the country. More details on how you can get involved will be shared soon!

| We can face competing priorities when we think about planning our estates someday. The big decision to make is whether an estate plan is merely a legal/financial activity or is it an activity of faith. If wealth preservation is your goal, then you only need legal/financial assistance. But if blessing family and supporting ministry is your aim, working with your LCMS Foundation Gift Planning Counselor will assist you in expressing your faith desires. Contact our SED Gift Planning Counselor, Pastor John Denninger. |
