Swim for Bethany House Fundraiser
It's Not too Late to Give!
| | |
For the past six years, Prince of Peace member and Spring Hill resident Jerry Nepodal has hosted a solo swim-a-thon to support Bethany House of Northern Virginia, raising $12,000 in 2024 alone. This year, Jerry is joined by fellow swimmers Jim Clark and Mike Robey with a goal of raising $20,000+ to support housing and furnishing projects for women and children escaping domestic violence. An $8,000 matching pledge will double donations up to that amount. To learn more or make a pledge, visit:

A big thank you and God bless you goes out to all of you who have contributed money for the purchase of Bibles to be given out by Alex Lillis and the Sowers Team. God's Word changes lives and you are a part of that by your giving. Please pray for those who have received His Word and be open to how God will allow you to be part of His mission to the lost. | | |
You may have noticed leaks in several places in the Sanctuary and in areas under the flat roof. We have spent about $20,000 on repairs over the last eight years and have been able to extend the life of the roof. However, now is the time for a total replacement.
Due to your generous giving in the past, we were able to make a down payment of $175,000. We hope to have reserve funds of around $100,000 at the end of this fiscal year. We now need to raise the remaining $225,000 to complete the work.
Please carefully consider what you can do to help. Make checks payable to Prince of Peace and write “ROOF” in the memo line.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Blessings,
Brad

We’re excited to announce Pray & Go, our annual outreach focus for the month of July. This is a 30-day journey where we commit just 5–7 minutes each day to pray, read, and intentionally live out the Great Commission. We believe God will use this time to grow our faith and help us reach others in authentic ways.
(Optional bonus) In addition, for those who would like to participate, we’ll gather every Sunday between services throughout July to pray together, encourage one another, and share what we’ve been learning from the book and testimonies. Whether you’ve been attending regularly or are just getting started, this is a great opportunity to Grow Together in faith and community. These gatherings will take place in Room 21.
The commitment begins Wednesday, July 1, and participants must pick up their book by June 28. Books will be available for pick-up under the big cross in the church lobby on Sundays in June. Registration is now open—we encourage every member to take part!

The Prince of Peace Endowment
Securing Our Future
| | Do you have a vision for a new ministry or a project that aligns with our mission? The Endowment is designed to bring those visions to life. | |
The Prince of Peace Endowment is more than a fund; it is a permanent foundation for our mission. By preserving the principal and only distributing a portion of the earnings, we ensure that your gifts become a living legacy—supporting the Gospel at Prince of Peace for generations to come.
How It Works
Professional Oversight: Our funds are managed by the LCMS Foundation, providing expert, faith-aligned investment stewardship.
Integrity & Security: The Endowment is independent of the general operating budget. The church cannot "spend down" the principal, ensuring the fund remains a perpetual source of support.
Strategic Growth: A portion of annual earnings is distributed to fuel specific ministry initiatives that fall outside our normal operating expenses.

Dear Friends at Prince of Peace,
I am so heartened by the support and appreciation this congregation continues to show to me, as well as my now husband Chip.
It was God's plans - certainly not mine - that led me to a marriage in this first year of living in Virginia and being on staff as Director of Worship Arts at PoP. Those of you who know me well understand that I'm not one who enjoys the limelight, but I didn't want to not celebrate our recent wedding with my new family in Virginia.
Now - I do believe that major life events are over for some time, and I can re-focus on building upon the already amazing worship and music experience we have in our church.
Thank you for embracing me, and now us, into this beautiful church community. I know other staff feels equally blessed to be working in such a caring, supported environment.
With extreme gratitude,
Allison M. Smith
