Minister's Musings

“Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.”   Hermann Hesse

Some Updates

We are sad to let you know that Albie has resigned from the congregation. We fully expected Albie to return to all her UUCFM ministries after she completed her work with the right relations committee last month, however, yesterday, I received an email from her letting us know that after months of indecision, she had decided to resign.

Amy enjoyed the opportunity to help out the music team the last two Sundays, but commitments to her family and the symphony prevent her from being more than an occasional substitute. The Music Committee is hard at work on preparing to search for a new Music Professional.

This week in worship we will be talking about our covenant together and the love that is in the center of our faith tradition. I will be Zooming in. Please join us.

Out of Office

Denise will be out of the office February 3-6. She will not be available by phone or email during this time.

Community Sharing for February

The SWFL RESET Center was founded in 2020 by UUCFM members and committed community activists seeking to be a positive force for change in SWFL. The RESET office is located on the UUCFM Campus. RESET contributes to the Community Gardens and will continue to partner with other organizations seeking to teach and practice regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and community leadership.

SWFL RESET Center offers ongoing free programs and online RESET Conversations educating the public about real solutions for Clean Water, and Environmental Justice in our bioregion. Check out our positive daily messaging called Earth Moments and help us spread the word by sharing, reflecting, and commenting on social media. Stay tuned for our upcoming programming called Being a Good Relative, a UUSC, UUFJ, RESET partnership about working with our Indigenous neighbors in the Everglades on Climate Justice.

If you cannot attend in person, you can still donate by mailing a check to the office with "community sharing" in the subject line, or by using the "donate" button on the website and marking it "community sharing".

ROOTS AND WINGS

PROGRESS ON OUR 2023-24 GENEROSITY CAMPAIGN

We are HALFWAY through the time allotted for our annual Generosity Campaign. THANK YOU to all who have already committed to support UUCFM for the upcoming fiscal year!

Here is a link you can use for a digital pledge card. If you prefer a paper commitment card, you can pick one up at the Welcome Table on Sunday. All pledges are confidential. You can also call

or email Denise at the UUCFM office for help or to learn the status of your present commitment. It is important that we hear from EVERYONE, even if your current contributions are automatically paid. Remember, we need to hear from you by Feb. 7 to be included in the drawing for GCS tickets.

You are invited to join the Stewardship Team for a ZOOM Discussion Sunday, February 5 at 2 PM. We would love feedback from you on our campaign. We will have time for more

detailed feedback on ideas and concerns brought up in the Listening Sessions. Here is the Zoom Link.

This is part of the spring equinox celebration and it is open to all. Come one and all, have a spot of tea with our merry bunch of quirky characters, find a bit of balance in all. If you are coming please contact CUUPSFM, so we have a bit of a headcount. May The Ways of March bring you a pot of gold.
