Each year, we collect information from our participants to better understand who we serve. All personal information is kept strictly confidential. As a nonprofit organization that provides services at no cost, we rely entirely on donations to support our programs. To help secure funding, we are required to collect participant information annually. Any data shared with funders is aggregated demographic information only and does not include any identifying details. Thank you for your support!

Reiki is an energy healing technique in which the instructor uses gentle hand movements by hovering over you to channel the flow of life force energy throughout your body, aiming to alleviate stress and promote healing. This technique is based on the belief that life force energy flows through all living things and that when this energy is blocked or stagnant, it can lead to physical, emotional, and spiritual imbalances. Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among American men, second only to skin cancer. In the United States, more than 3.3 million men are living with or have had prostate cancer, and more than 313,780 men are diagnosed with the disease each year. Join us during National Cancer Prevention Month for an informative presentation covering prostate cancer, including prevention, screening, and treatment options. Light refreshments will be provided. Calling All Latina Breast Cancer Survivors!
Researchers at the Luis Carvajal Carmona Laboratory at UC Davis Health have launched a study, Entendiéndonos, aimed at improving health outcomes and reducing cancer health disparities among Latinas who may be genetically predisposed to breast cancer. This study seeks to recruit Latina breast cancer survivors to better understand their awareness of genetic testing and the barriers or facilitators to accessing genetic counseling and testing. You can expect to complete a survey, and you may be invited to a one-hour discussion for deeper insights. Survey takers will receive a $30 gift card, and interviewees will receive a $50 gift card.
Who Can Participate?
• Identify as Hispanic/Latina
• Assigned female at birth
• Age 20–79
• Diagnosed with breast cancer within the last 5 years
• Lived in California at the time of diagnosis
• Come from medically underserved communities
• Speak English or Spanish

Los investigadores del Laboratorio Luis Carvajal Carmona de UC Davis Health han puesto en marcha un estudio, Entendiéndonos, el objetivo es mejorar los resultados de salud y reducir las desigualdades en materia de cáncer entre las latinas que pueden tener predisposición genética al cáncer de mama. Este estudio busca reclutar a sobrevivientes latinas de cáncer de mama para comprender mejor su conocimiento sobre las pruebas genéticas y las barreras o facilitadores para acceder al asesoramiento y las pruebas genéticas. Se le pedirá que complete una encuesta y es posible que se le invite a participar en un debate de una hora de duración para obtener información más detallada. Las personas que completen la encuesta recibirán una tarjeta de regalo de $30, y las entrevistadas recibirán una tarjeta de regalo de $50.
¿Quiénes pueden participar?
• Identificarse como hispana/latina.

We are excited to re-introduce Qigong for a six-week series for the new year! The ancient Chinese healing art of Qigong is a practice that integrates gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindful focus to enhance the body’s natural healing abilities. Designed especially for cancer survivors and caregivers, this workshop offers a gradual and supportive introduction to Qigong’s core principles and techniques. Participants will learn simple movements to improve circulation, balance, and flexibility while cultivating calmness and vitality. No prior experience is necessary.
