Thank You for a Great Year!


Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara had a great 2023 and we thank YOU for coming along with us!



  • Our programs continued to thrive and more in-person groups and classes have returned to the office! Check our calendar for the latest updates!
  • Our fundraising events were larger and more $ucce$$ful! Hope Walk and Celebration of Hope Garden Party are already scheduled for 2024.
  • Hope Walk – Saturday, June 8th at Cal Lutheran University.
  • Garden Party – Sunday, September 15th at Los Robles Greens Event Center.
  • Our first annual Caravan for Cancer event was a smashing hit and the 2nd annual event is planned for Sunday, June 23rd.
  • Outreach events increased significantly in 2023 as we reconnected with our community partners and events.
  • Our office relocated and we’ve fully settled into our beautiful new space.

In-Person Workshop: Alexander Technique with Shula Sendowski

Wednesday, January 17th and 24th, 12:00 - 1:00 PM (2 sessions)

The Alexander Technique educational approach is used in daily movement and functions and can help relieve physical stress. It was developed in England over 100 years ago by F.M. Alexander. In this class Shula will gently guide you to remove unnecessary muscular tension while observing specific imbalance when sitting, standing, walking, and lying down on the mat in the active rest position. Online Workshop: Latest Advancements in Gynecologic Cancers

Over the last several years, we have had multiple advancements in the treatment of gynecologic cancers. These include treatments that are targeted and/or directed at specific characteristics of gynecologic cancer. With these new treatments, we have seen improvements in outcomes including survival while minimizing side effects or changes in a patient’s quality of life. Newcomer's Welcome Orientation

Are you or is someone you know impacted by cancer? You are not alone. We are here to support you! Please come to our Orientation and meet Maddie, our Program Coordinator. She will walk you through our different programs like support groups, counseling, and mind/body classes. Remember these are at no cost!

Online Workshop: Gynecological Cancer Support Group

1st & 4th Mondays 10:00 - 11:30 AM

This support group is for people who are dealing with any type of gynecological cancer. It provides an opportunity to share information and give and receive emotional support. It is a welcoming place both for those who are currently undergoing treatment and for survivors. This group is facilitated by Kayo Matsumoto, LMFT, a long-time CSC group facilitator and current Program & Clinical Director. Download the flyer for more information.

2024 Bowl to Strike Out Cancer

Saturday, February 24th, 12:30 - 3:30PM

Join us on Saturday, February 24, at this year’s Bowl to Strike Out Cancer presented by Ventura Downtown Lions Club at Buena Lanes in Ventura. Tickets are $30/each and include 3 casual games of bowling, BBQ lunch, event t-shirt, raffle ticket, and more! All levels are welcome! Want to bowl with CSC?
