Sunday Service
November 17
Decorating the
Chrismon Tree
Please stay after church this Sunday for a short time to help decorate our tree. It goes quickly and is a lot of fun.

Did you know that A Chrismon tree is an evergreen tree often placed in the chancel or nave of a church during Advent and Christmastide. The Chrismon tree was first used by North American Lutherans in 1957, although the practice has spread to other Christian denominations, including Anglicans, Catholics, Methodists, and the Reformed.
Christmas Poinsettias
On Sale Now
Order yours now for $10 in Honor or Memory of loved ones. Flowers will be in the church Sunday, December 8 and may be removed after the Candlelight Service on December 24th.

Money is due no later than Wednesday night, Dec. 4.

Forms are available in the Narthex and at the Welcome Center.
Parsonage Open House
You are all invited to the parsonage at 325 Seavy Street, right next to the church, on Sunday, December 1st, from 4-6pm.

Come enjoy the beginning of Advent with the Jenkins family and your church family. The famous chocolate fountain will be ready for your enjoyment!
The Angel Tree is Up!

The Angel Tree is up in the Fellowship Hall. There are tags on it with the names of children and their desired gift.

Please take a tag and return the wrapped gift with the tag attached. You may place your gifts under the tree.

If you have any questions please contact either Betty Bryant and Carolyn Morris. Sponsored by A Brighter Day.
The UMW has asked Jane Hutchinson Arnold to have a special sale to kick off the gift buying season. Bring your friends, family and neighbors to the Fellowship Hall on Monday, November 25, from 5 to 8pm for 50% off clearance and 25% off current designs.
Light Up Senoia Festivities and Parade
This year Senoia UMC will be decorating the bus for the parade.
Our children, youth and other fun loving members will be either
riding the bus or walking along side of the bus.

Everyone is invited to join us in the parade.

We’ll also be sponsoring a Family Scavenger Hunt that afternoon.
Come join in the fun!

We need you to volunteer to help make this afternoon a success!
Please let Jon Morris know if you are planning to help at (404) 934-6779
Light Up Senoia is Saturday, December 7th, and starts at 4:00 p.m.
The parade through downtown is at 5:30pm.

So come on out and join the fun during this annual event. This is the ideal opportunity to show our welcoming, loving, Senoia UMC spirit
and invite our neighbors to join us this Advent season in worship.

Bring in Your Family Photos!
Our Senoia UMC Family: We have set aside part of the bulletin board in the stairwell hallway for us to share family pictures. Please bring in some of your favorites and put them on the board. Take some time to stop and look at our wonderful family.
Pajama Collection
Our kids PJ drive has begun.

All sizes of children’s PJs are needed. Please place in the specially marked bin in the Fellowship Hall. This effort is being lead by Betty Bryant and Carolyn Morris.
Get Them Talking: Gratitude
“Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Common English Bible

Parents often teach their children to say thank you at an early age. When the child receives something from a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend, mom or dad will ask, “What do you say?”

As we grow, we learn that gratitude is more than a polite response. It is a way of life. When we live with an attitude of gratitude, we remind ourselves that all that we have – time, faith, family, and more – is a gift from God to be cherished and cared for in the ways God would.

Get them talking
  • Who taught you to say “thank you”? What are some ways to express gratitude without saying it?
  • Our Bible verse says we should give thanks in every situation. Have you ever had trouble saying thank you? Why?
  • How might caring for others be a way of expressing gratitude toward God?

Thank you God for all the gifts you provide. Teach us to give thanks in every situation in both our words and actions. Amen.

Have each member of your family share something for which they are thankful. Plan some things you can do to express your gratitude by serving someone else. For example, if you are grateful for food, how might you share food with someone who is hungry?
