I-58 is always in need of food for the pantry.
Please help us help those in need.
Friends, Because of some very large generous donations and due to a great deal of construction work being done inside the mission, we are accepting very few non food items throughout the month of January.

Please donate Chocolate heart candy boxes for Valentine’s Day!

We also need:
New/nearly new kid/teens clothes sizes 6-16
New electric heaters
Heavy duty lawn bags to hold the groceries
The Red Cross is experiencing the worst blood shortage in over a decade. The dangerously low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants. Your donation is desperately needed. Please schedule an appointment to give now.

A critical blood drive is scheduled for February 7th at the Senoia United Methodist Church from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. This blood drive is co-sponsored by the local church and the Optimist Club of Senoia. If you are unable to give, you are encouraged to notify others who may be able to donate. Due to an emergency blood and platelet shortage, donors are strongly urged to give now to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available for patients.

Donors are asked to wear a face mask and enter the front door of the sanctuary where they can sign-in and wait while social distancing. (Signs will point the way.)

You are encouraged to make an appointment for the upcoming blood drive either by signing up online at https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). NOTE: If the appointment schedule is full, walk-ins may not be able to donate.

Please note the Red Cross is not testing donors to diagnose illness, including COVID-19. If you feel unwell for any reason, please postpone your donation. Individuals who believe they may be ill with COVID-19 should not attempt to donate.

The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give Blood. ™

Connextion Groups, Team News
and Spiritual Growth
The Trustees will be meeting this Sunday immediately following the 11:00 Worship Service.

Please make every effort to attend this brief but important meeting.

Thank you!
To All Leaders, Team Members
and Persons Interested
in Leadership of
Senoia United Methodist Church
You are invited to a Leadership Training event, “Leadership in a New Day,” on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 6, at 12:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This training is for all leaders, committee and team members and those of you who may be interested in a future leadership role.

We are excited to have Rev. Richard Hunter join us as our guest leader for this event, who comes to us from the North Georgia Conference Office of Congregational Excellence. Richard was Ashley’s contextual education supervisor/professor when she was in seminary. Ashley thinks the world of Richard and knows it will be a great event!

This is for all leaders of the church, whether you serve or chair on a committee/team or are interested in checking out how you might like to serve in the future. Each of you leads this church through your various commitments. We will hear about church leadership in general as well as how all our committees/teams work together here at SUMC.

As a member of the specific committee or team you are on, you will receive your copy of the Guideline Booklet outlining the specifics of your committee/team, explaining what that committee/team’s role is in the overall organization of the church. This in turn will help all of us as we work together in the ministries of Senoia UMC.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend this event. Bring a salad or dessert to share. Soups will be provided. If you plan on attending or have any questions, contact Pastor Ashley or Barb Combs. We will see you on the 6th

Disciple Bible II

A new Disciple Bible II class to begin!!

Disciple Bible II will have an organizational meeting this Sunday, Jan. 16, at 3:00 in the Fellowship Hall.

Disciple Bible is a longer-term study, divided into two parts. The first part will meet this winter and early spring for 16 weeks. We’ll focus on only two books of the Old Testament, Genesis and Exodus, which covers creation and the early life of the Hebrew people as they endured the Great Flood, captivity in Egypt, their escape from Egypt, and wanderings in the desert. Yes, there is some reading each week from our workbook, but it’s not as bad as what you may have heard!

Come this Sunday with all of your questions to give you a better idea of what is involved. It’s a great study in which you will earn a lot about our religious heritage, the Bible, and each other.

Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions before the meeting on Sunday or if you know that you will be attending the study but can’t make it on Sunday. I’ll keep a workbook for you. See you Sunday afternoon!

Ladies Eat Out

Calling all ladies! LEO (Ladies Eat Out) will meet on Thursday morning, Jan. 20, at 11:30.

This month we’ll stay close to home and gather at The Curious Kitchen in downtown Senoia (You know I’m from the north; we always stay close to home in winter to avoid weather/snow issues! Haha!)

This is for all ladies of our church and community. We have a fun time each month, catching up and of course: eating! What could be better?! Come and check it out!

If you know you will be attending, give me, Barb at 419-680-2103, a call or text so I can give an approximate number to the restaurant by Wednesday afternoon. If you have never been to a LEO lunch, this is the time to begin! I’ll see you at “the pig” (as I call it!)

Upper Room Connexion Group

We’re back! Our Upper Room at SUMC devotion group will begin meeting again on Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, at 10:30 in the JOY Room off the narthex.

Each week we read through Wednesday’s devotion from The Upper Room Devotional booklet and have conversation about it. We also discuss any of the devotions from the previous week that had particular meaning for us.

This is a great group of church members who each week have a wonderful time gathering and being together. Come and check it out!

Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions. I’ll see you on Wednesday!

Bible Study with Barb

Bible Study with Barb begins a new study on Wednesday, Jan. 19, on the Old Testament book of Malachi.

We meet at 7:00 either in person in the Youth Room at the rear of the sanctuary or via Zoom.

This is a great time to start your new year, in a new Bible study! The study is open to all people in the church. Even if you have never been part of a Bible study before, come and learn with the rest of us. We have fun and lots of laughs, all while learning about how the Bible fits into our lives today.

Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions. I’ll see you on the 19th!
