Upper Room Connexion Group

Come and join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 in the JOY Room off the narthex of the sanctuary for a great discussion on the daily devotions from The Upper Room Devotionals booklet.

We gather in our own Upper Room at SUMC to learn more about God and each other, much as the early followers of Jesus did in Jerusalem. We have a great time each week.

There is always room for one more, so wander on over to the church on the 20th at 10:30. We’ll see you there! Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions.

Book Study with Barb

Book Study with Barb begins a new 5-week study on Enough: Discovering Joy through Simplicity and Generosity by Adam Hamilton.

We meet on Wednesday evenings, at 7:00 in the Youth Room at the rear of the sanctuary in person or via Zoom.

This first week we will discuss “When Dreams Become Nightmares.” We all love stuff: gadgets; the newest electronic devices; vehicles; the things we wear. And we all realize that, at times, we know that what we have is all we really need….enough. Come and join us as we find joy and fulfillment in simplicity, relationships, a clear sense of purpose, generosity, and faith.

This is open to all people of our church. I know you will enjoy this study, particularly at this time of year when we as the church are focusing on our stewardship of all things. Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions. See you on the 20th, 7:00, in the Youth Room!

Ladies Eat Out

LEO (Ladies Eat Out) will meet next Thursday, October 21, at 11:30 at the City Café and Bakery, 215 Glynn St. Fayetteville. Our LEO group gathers for lunch and gab!

OK, maybe not gabbing; let’s say fellowship! Whatever we call it, we have a wonderful time each month as we meet and eat. What could be better than that?

This is open to all ladies of the church and community. Simply let Barb at 419-680-2103 know if you are coming so a heads-up can be given to the restaurant. But don’t worry, you can always join us if your plans change, so come on over. There’ll be a seat at the table for you. See you on the 21st!
