It's Time to Wrap Up Summer
What Better Way Than With a Pool Party?
All youth are invited! Let's have some summer fun before summer is gone!
Cooking teams have been organized, local restaurants talked to, the men of the church are all “fired up” to cook out some Wednesdays and other groups within the church are planning great meals for our WNS gatherings. In other words, we are ready to cook and eat!

Since it has been well over a year that we have gathered to dine, we really would appreciate knowing who is planning to be at supper on September 22. You can turn in a Connection card this coming Sunday (Sept. 12) or the following Sunday or call the office and let Lee put you on the list – the sooner the better!!

Normally we do this a week at a time, but this one time we really need a read on what Wednesday Night Supper is going to look like numbers wise.

  • Roast pork loin
  • Hash brown casserole
  • Jim’s carrots
  • Slaw
  • Assorted desserts

Cost for dinners this year will be: $8 Adults; $4 children
Book Study with Barb

This Wednesday, Sept 15, 7:00, Book Study with Barb concludes our study on Micah 6:8, What Does the Lord Require.

We will discuss what it means and looks like to walk humbly with our God. Does this mean to walk attentively? Wisely? Carefully? Or with humility?

Join us as we talk our way through this last part of the trio of requirements God gave us. We meet either in the Fellowship Hall or via Zoom. Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions.

Ladies Eat Out

LEO, Ladies Eat Out, will gather on Thursday morning, Sept 16, 11:30, at Fuego Mar Mexican Grill on Main St. in downtown Senoia.

This is open to all ladies of the church and any family or friends you’d like to invite. We gather; we “discuss;” and we eat! What could be easier and better than that!!

No need to make a reservation, but if you know you will be attending, just give me, Barb at 419-680-2103 or in church on Sunday, a heads-up so I can give the restaurant an approximate number. But, as always, if you wake up Thursday morning with nothing on your horizon, just come on over and join us! There’s always a seat available!

It’s a wonderful way to get to know your fellow pewmates a little better. See you Thursday! Adios!

Upper Room Connexion Group

This wonderful group, Upper Room at SUMC, meets each Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the JOY Room, off the narthex at the rear of the church.

We have insightful discussions about the daily devotions found in The Upper Room devotional book for that particular week. This group is open to everyone of the church: young or mature; female or male; new to church or longtime church attendees. Simply come and join us.

Each week is stand alone, so if you’re free one Wednesday morning at 10:30, mosey on over and see what it’s all about. There will be a seat for you! Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions.

Read It & Reap

The Read It & Reap Book Club will gather on Monday evening, Sept 13, at 7:00, in the JOY Room, off the narthex at the rear of the church.

This month’s read is The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah, which is set against the backdrop of one of America’s most defining eras—the Great Depression.

In Texas, 1934, millions of people are out of work and a drought has broken the Great Plains. Farmers are fighting to keep their land and their livelihoods as the crops are failing, the water is drying up, and dust threatens to bury them all. One of the darkest periods of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl era has arrived with a vengeance. In this uncertain and dangerous time, Elsa Martinelli—like so many of her neighbors—must make an agonizing choice: fight for the land she loves or go west, to California, in search of a better life.

This is a wonderful book and fairly easy to read (OK, I/Barb thought it was an easy read!). Even if you haven’t read the book, yet, you have time to do so before Monday evening! Come and discuss it with us. Tell me if you found it to be an easy read! Call or text me, Barb at 419-680-2103, if you have any questions. See you on Monday!
