Newsletter announcement for Lone Soldier Messages

The Lone Soldier Project

East Valley JCC supports Lone Soldiers on active duty in the IDF in partnership with three Lone Soldier Centers in Israel. We also educate the population of Arizona about the vital role these courageous young adults play in the defense of the Jewish Homeland. The needs of Lone Soldiers have dramatically escalated with the combat required for the war with Hamas. They are all in harms way!! At this time of the year, we conduct a Hanukkah Greeting Campaign at 40 sites around the state. This year, of course, this effort has been modified to include our prayers for their safety and welfare.

You are invited to send a message to a Lone Soldier by:

1.Sending it the EVJCC, 908 N Alma School Road, Chandler AZ, 85224 (label LSP)

2.Visit evjcc.org/greetings to upload your message by tapping “Write a Letter or Upload Artwork” Start your message with "Name"

3.Send your message in an email to lonesoldiers@evjcc.org

These messages will be bundled and sent to our 3 Lone Soldier Centers in Israel, to arrive by Hanukkah. We pray that the situation in Israel will stabilize by then to allow celebration of the holiday and to read our messages.

Todah rabah to all those who donated to Mom’s Pantry during our High Holy Days Food Drive. We collected 900 lbs. of food.

Dear Friends,

It has come to our attention that once again scam emails are being sent out to various synagogues, from someone claiming to be a member of their board of directors, requesting gift cards.

Please know that Congregation Kehillah’s board members, staff, and committee members will not email any requests for gift card purchases or wiring money.

If you have a question as to the validity of an email, please forward it to us at info@congregationkehillah.org so that we can confirm.

L’Shalom,

Renee B Joffe
