Dear Friends,

Shana Tovah! We hope that the following information will help answer some of your logistical questions for the High Holy Days.

Location:  Services will be held at 5858 E Dynamite Blvd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331.

To be earth-friendly, we did not send out tickets this year and your email response is imperative in order to reserve your spot and serves as your ticket. All members must sign up ahead of time; names will be checked at the door. Please note the change in time for the Main Service is now 10:45 a.m. While you are in our lobby, please take a moment to look at our YEP! student creations.

ROSH HASHANAH          Sunday, September 25th, 6:45 p.m. (one service for entire congregation)

                              FAMILY SERVICE Monday, September 26th, 8:45 a.m.

(For our families with YEP! students in grades 2 – 8; this is not a children’s service, but a service for families.)

MAIN SERVICE Monday, September 26th10:45 a.m. (note change in time)

YOM KIPPUR        Kol Nidre: Tuesday, October 4th, 6:45 p.m. (one service for entire congregation)

FAMILY SERVICE Morning Service: Wednesday, October 5th, 8:45 a.m.

(For our families with YEP! students in grades 2 – 8; this is not a children’s service, but a service for families.)

MAIN SERVICE Morning Service: Wednesday, October 5th10:45 a.m.  (note change in time)

You are invited to stay during our brief break for restorative Yoga and Torah Talk led by Madeline Sherman, Co-lead of CKYA (Young Adult programming)

           Afternoon Service/Yizkor/Neilah: Wednesday, October 5th, 3:00 pm

All are encouraged to attend and we are excited, Gd willing, to resume the experience of giving private time before the open Ark during Neilah. It is a wonderful and meaningful tradition at Congregation Kehillah.

Parking: Since our parking lot has a limited number of spaces, we highly recommend carpooling as we haven’t contracted a shuttle van this year. If you are able, please make arrangements with other family members or friends to park at Coolwater Christian Church, 28181 N 56th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85266 and drive over to the synagogue in one vehicle. Coolwater Christian Church is on the SE corner of 56th St and Dynamite (less than a ¼ mile from the synagogue.) Entrance to the parking lot is on 56th St south of Dynamite. Due to the traffic and speed on Dynamite, we ask that you please don’t try to walk and crossover Dynamite. The front spaces in the synagogue parking lot will be for those who are elderly, or mobility challenged, When exiting our parking lot please only turn right. Please note that the time for the Main Service is now 10:45 a.m. If you are attending the Main Service please arrive no earlier than 10:25 a.m. This will allow us time to clear the parking lot from our Family Service.

Machzorim: Returning members should have Machzorim at home (blue cover is Rosh Hashanah, white is Yom Kippur), from past two year's online services. We encourage you to write your name on the covers, and put them in your car so you will have them for all services. We have a limited number of Machzorim at the synagogue, which will be provided to new members. Family service will be on a Power Point, and you will not need a Machzor. Thank you in advance.

Temperature:  While we try to keep everyone comfortable, we know that this is not always possible. We have several air conditioning units and will do our best to regulate the temperature in the sanctuary. If you tend to get cold, please bring a jacket, sweater, or shawl.

Masks: We are not requiring masks at this time, but we encourage you to wear masks for the safety of all. The first few rows of the sanctuary will be reserved for mask wearers. The reserved rows are for those who feel safer sitting next to other mask wearers. Otherwise, mask wearers may sit anywhere in the sanctuary.

Food Donations:  Upon leaving services on Rosh Hashanah, you will be offered a grocery bag with the hope that you will return it on or before Kol Nidre filled with non-perishable food items. Attached to the bag is a list of suggested items. The food will be donated to Mom's Pantry, a community food bank located in Phoenix on N Cave Creek Rd, north of Sweetwater. They are open Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. If you wish, you can bring a check made out to Mom’s Pantry and we will forward it on. We appreciate your participation in this important mitzvah! A representative will be in our parking lot on Wednesday morning of Yom Kippur and you can put your bags directly in their vehicle.

Zoom guests: We ask that you please do not share the Zoom link without permission from Renee. We will be monitoring who we allow into the Zoom session. The Zoom links for Yom Kippur will be sent after Rosh HashanahThere will NOT be a Zoom option for the Family Service.
