Support from First Unitarian Church
In these uncertain and anxious times, we want you to know that First Unitarian is here for you. If you need support in any way, we hope you'll reach out.
  • If you would like a listening ear, you would appreciate a call from a member of our Pastoral Care Team, we will happily connect with you on the phone or on zoom.
  • If you are feeling sick or have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, we want to know and support you in whatever ways are possible.
  • If you have lost your source of income and are worried about making ends meet, we have emergency funds to support you.
  • If you need help with getting food or other essential supplies - we will do what we can to help.
Just reach out to Rev. Margalie Belizaire at caring@rochesterunitarian.org or call 585-270-0851. Everything you share will be held in confidence.
Last Sunday in RE, our 7th and 8th graders finished their OWL sessions for this year! Thank you so much to all of the facilitators! This Sunday, 7th and 8th groups are invited to join Emma at 9:30 AM for a nature hike and short session on addressing mental health needs, especially social anxiety.
Last weekend, if you walked through the church garden you might have seen our Coming of Age (9th Grade) youth on retreat!

Mark your calendar for our annual youth-lead rites of passage on Sunday, June 13 with our 5th grade Leap of Faith (9:30 AM) and Coming of Age (10:00 AM) online. Our youth are busy bringing these services to life and we can’t wait to share them with you! Questions about RE? Email us!

Have you included the First Unitarian Church of Rochester in your legacy planning?
Perhaps through a bequest in your will, or as a beneficiary on a retirement account or insurance policy? If so, we want to hear about it! The Legacy Society is updating our records, and we want to be sure to include you in all the fun events we have planned for the coming year. Please let us know, even if you think we already know, by sending an email to legacysociety@rochesterunitarian.org or calling Bruce Fredericks at 585-233-2857.

Want to golf this season with congenial company?
"First Unitarian Thwackers" invite you to join them each Thursday for a friendly, non-competitive round of golf followed by a little lunch and conversation, if you have time. We alternate through many local public courses, so the green surroundings keep changing. It's literally a walk (or ride) in the park. If interested or have questions, please contact Paul Suwijn.

General Assembly is more affordable and accessible than ever this year! Learn the many ways you can join with other UUs across the continent!

Environmental Justice Ministry Green Tip
If you watch mainstream media for any length of time, you probably see many commercials for a myriad of home cleaning products. The problem is that most (if not all) of those advertised products are harmful to not only the health of our planet, but harmful to the health of you and your family. While many (most?) home cleaning products are toxic, there are green options! Did you know that there are organic, safe, health-friendly ways to clean virtually anything and everything in your home? Check out these resources: Green Cleaning, Versatile Vinegar, and Vinegar Tips.
